Has anyone tried going the back way from Merritt to Boston Bar or vice versa?
Is it open? Too much snow?

yes, from jack shwartz, to spius-utezeli, then on thru to anderson cr fsr, though there was snow, but it was all passable.
though I didn't see any tequila stands, so I have no idea how YOU will make it.

I'm going to be riding this way next month (on my way to Nakusp for HU Rally). Any insight into the condition of the road? I'll likely be riding alone so want to keep it tame. Unless someone wants to join me? I'll be leaving Hope Aug 18 and staying in Vernon. The more back roads the better!

the route I mentioned with the exception of Jack Shwartz is an easy C C+ route, the shwartz portion is scenic but is a bit more challenging due to old deactivation ditches totally rideable but more than a "C" level. Past merritt on the old Hwy. yu can take pennask lk rd. across to vernon, past vernon head towards mable lk to the mable/ three valley fsr all the way to 3 valley gap then take the fsr along the south side of arrow lake to the ferry mid way down the lake (fsr and ferry name upon request) then a short boot to nakusp, which is the route I took to the HU event last year.

thanks for the route tips 04klr. has anyone rode this recently? any road condition updates?

I'm looking for riding buddies!

I'll be leaving vancouver saturday morning (early) and would love to take some fsr between hope / meritt / vernon. I'd feel more comfortable riding with at least one other person, so if anyone is interested in connecting for all / part of the route let me know. I'm pretty flexible on schedule as I starting a week's vacation and my only set plan is to be in Nakusp on Wednesday to help set up at the HU event. I'm a competent rider and new to DS on a DR650 that will be packed with camping gear. I"m not super fast, but I don't whine either ;)
