I Just bought a 4" Aluminumtrapp for my91-DR650S. I went to.Supertrapp.com and theres almost nothing.about " E.A.R"Must be old tech stuff..? I think it's ???. Audio. Reduction. Because the disks are very thin and it only came with 8.

Hey Big. I'd bet the E.A.R. acronym is in-house lingo, as opposed to a standard engineering term. Exhaust Amplitude Reduction?? ....Randy

the supertrapp exhaust for youre DR came in two models the E.A.R that you have stands for [ ENVIRONMENTAL, ACOUSTIC, REDUCTION] the second model is the racing series it uses the same discs as the E,A,R the differance is that the E,A,R has baffles in the main tube too reduce sound and give more back pressure 8 discs are what the both models come with adding more than 8 to the E,A,R will not boost performance because of the baffles in the tube you canreplace the tube with the one from the racing series but on a stock engine theE,A,Rworks and sounds very well .
Thanx Ray..The 8 disks that came with the kit were thin and very restrictive.I have 12 disks from anolder trappinstalled. There a differently pressed diskand let more exhaust out.The Bike runs way better. My cruising range is wider and it pulls very hard..I dont see a need to rejet..But I think my milage is suckin a bit..Cheers :hb:
