After proving last night that I have a complete lack of balance, (just wait for Joker's picture of me dodging frogs):mad3:, and considering 04KLKR's much valued opinion on the existing rad guards:hb:, and taking into account that I, once again, have my rad shrouds held on with zap straps:XI'm considering putting on the large IMS tank. Who has put one on their KLR and does it offer any significant crash protection to the radiator? Is it a lot lighter than the stock tank? In other words, as long as I don't fill the thing all the way, can I lower the KLR's center of gravity, (again gravity being foremost in my mind after last nights bath)? Any other ways to make the KLR a little less top heavy? I really like riding in the dirt, but am starting to wonder if the KLR is a suitable bike on whichto learnriding in the dirt.

I have an Acerbis tank on my KLR650C and it is similar to the IMS. I had a good hard wipe out the other week while off road, though the rad would be toast but there was just a scuff on the thank wing so I'd say they work quite well as rad guards.

Good to know, thanks. Does Acerbis make a tank for the A model too?
