I'm hoping that someone will be able to tell me if the French Bar Creek FSR from the Big Bar ferry goes through to French Mtn, Red Mtn, top end of Yalakom FSR? The Backroad Mapbook shows tworoad/trails. One goes to the China Head Mtn FSR and the other skirts around the west side of French Mtn towards Red Mtn.
Any info would be appreciated

The BC Ministry of Forests puts out the following map of forest service roads and all campsites. Just click on the area you're interested in and the map will magnify to greater and greater detail.

Sorry Scott, I posted an answer before I left on Monday. I guess cyberspace had it for breakfast!
We did it as part of our Chilcotin trip this summer. However we went up Mud Creek rather than the Yalakom, much more fun with some nice river crossings and some mighty uphills. Mud Creek and Yalakom come together at the top and then you can do Red, Poison, China etc... we went over the top of China Head to the ferry. Nice ride and definitely KLR friendly. Now, there also are some not so very KLR friendly areasup and around Poison Mountain that I did last year.... You'd love'em, that area is pretty much a must.

And I forgot to mention, Taxguy will have the GPS track of our route.
Is it possible for you to supply a link to the China Head GPS route?
Looking at a back road loop to return on the way back from Bella Coola for this summer. Old men on KLRs so not too vicious a route(VBG).
