View Full Version : Ride with spouse Part II
Mrs. SPC would like to go on another “ride with spouse” and wonders if anyone else wantsto go with us. I have Saturday, October 7 off and am suggesting that date. The following Saturday is the Harley/Buell demo rides and we are going there to celebrate my wife’s birthday.;) We are open to suggestion on where to ride. Anyone interested? Doug, will your butt be recovered enough by then to bring Lorrie?

You should be able to put Mrs spc on her own bike by then hey?
I'm in! So will my spouse and the spare.
Is anyone still planning to join my wife and I on this ride?

any thoughts on how technical of a route? I might be up around Kamloops that weekend - if its not a mudfest, I could probably be convinced to bring the Buell out to play...
My wife will be riding on the back of my bike so it will be a easy route. Do you (ulendo) have a Ulysses? I would really like to see one. I hope you can make it.

No Its not a Ulysses, its the CityX, which is sort of like a 3/4 scale uly. 984cc vs 1203, ~52" wheelbase vs ~55, 375 lbs dry, and most important for me, a way lower seat height!! things like the handguards, lightguards, electricals, and build quality are pretty much the same though, and I'm running Pirelli MT60RS Corasa's, which are way more aggressive tires than anything I've seen an Uly's. I regularly run around the Chute lake areas - KVR railbed, the forest service/logging roads, and light trail stuff. here's a shot on the OK falls forest service road.

its different, thats for sure. I'm actually heading towards a sort of adventure-moto concept with it. (see attached - but I'll be adding aluminum hard cases to it)

Vincent, what's the plan for this? Cowboy Coffee at ??, then ride to ??
I am thinking about meeting at the Husky on Mt Paul Rd, going past Pinantan Lake towards Hyas Lake then up the back roads to Sun Peaks. I have never been up that way and if no one on the ride knows the route maybe we can find our way. Stop for lunch at a pub in Sun Peaks. Then return to Kamloops. Maybe return via Louis Creek.
I am open to suggestions if someone has other ideas.
Yak, are you coming?

Meeting at 9:30am okay or should it be earlier?

http://www.sunpeaksresort.com/winter/skiandride/weather/forecast.aspx
Forecast for Sun Peaks low -4, high +5. Depending on how much moisture they get on Friday (system moving through) might be icy for 2 up with spouse. Let's go see, but think about possible alternate routes. happy spouse = happy house!

It was a great day for a ride (especially for those of us with an electric vest!). Mrs. SPC should be defrosted by spring! :cf2:
Great weather, great ride, great companions! Selena - thanks again for the beers. Gord - what was that coffee?

Creekmore Coffee, It's roasted by a friend of mine on Vancouver Island.
You can write him give him your CC # and he'll send you some.
I just leave my CC # on file with him and he sends me coffee whenever I call.
coffeecreek@shaw.ca (mailto:coffeecreek@shaw.ca)
His name is David Creekmore.
The blend you drank today is the BLACKBIRD.
Tell him you're a friend of mine.
Cheers,
GB
Gordbull and Yak_650 both covered what a great day we had yesterday. Thanks to everyone for coming. Thanks to Selena for the beer, tea and coffee. I tried to get the ferry attendant to show us his water rescue skills in McLure but he was not interested. Mrs. SPC (Eva) is beginning to thaw out but she wants better gear for the next ride.
Eva also wanted me to thank Selena for the extra gloves yesterday. She would have been even colder without them.

For Eva, we will start with overpants, jacketand warmer gloves. But I think I will geta vest for me. Yak, do you have the vest with or without the collar?
