I've got a 2004 KTM200SX that I got street legal a year or two ago. I just added a BajaDesigns Dualsport kit, added a sidestand, some DOT approvedtires and then hadit inspected. I don't really use the bike as a dualsport, I just wanted to keep the cops off my back when I'm transfering between trails and unloading my bike from my truck.

I did have to get the dealership I purchased if from to sign the ICBC vehicle transfer form. This was a bit of a delay as I had purchased the bike a year previous and the dealer was in the interior. The company I did the insurance through actually contacted the dealer and had them courier over the signedicbc form. If you purchased the bike locally you probably won't have the problems I had, they will also be able to supply the dualsportkit, tires and do the inpection.

I have seen a number of Honda 50s on the street so I think you can get just about anything legal in BC.

If you buy it new, have a KTM DS kit fitted or fit one from CycleZone yourself. (This will be around $600) If you buy a KTM new you get a little "Orange" piece of paper called a NVIS form. Take this to your insurance company and register the bike, then buy insurance and plate it.....! It is that easy...! (be sure the bike comply as if you are in an accident you want all your bases covered) (in theory you could register and plate the bike wthout even having lights on, that would be illegal though....)

I know Carter has a few (new 04) KTM200cc DS2 strokes.....:D

Or, buy a new 450/525EXC as they come street legal in 07. :dr:

In short you need: a DS Kit $450(wiring, indicators, controll switch, horn, brake sensors and brake light...), electric fan $95, DOT Tyres $?, mirrors $40 ....you will now be reasonably legal.
