Went for a ride with Blacknbluesm and Scottbc on Saturday. The plan was to reach Chehalis Lake from Hawkins Pickle Rd. Ifigured itshouldn't be to bad, I mean Blacknbluesm is riding a DRZ400SM with street tires. Well I think I only dropped my DR650 about six times. Would've posted earlier but had to get a tensor bandage for my right wrist, so you'll haf to ekscuse ani sperling mistackes. Amazed myself at some of the stuff I was making it through on the stock DR650, thank goodness for that skidplate. We were stopped by a very large impassable washout eventually. Was suggested to try some other trails to continue with the ride. Why is it that some trails look like huge boulder strewn creeks to me ? That is where I realised how heavy my DR650 is after the second time picking it up. Take pics at this point ? Are you kidding ! Continued on to a viewpoint I cant remeber the name of and had lunch.

I made it, you won't see me on my bike next to the cliff due to that insane fear of heights.

Gave me heart palpitations just watching Scott ride his bike to the edge.

Apparently (crazy)Larry is gettin new tires 80%road/20%dirt, LOOKOUT!

After lunch we hit pavement then up Sylvester Rd. to the nice easy gravel :). Another newsuggestion to try the deactivated road to Davis Lake. First 100 feet look fine to me.......... wait a minute.

Didn't drop it at this point just got stuck a whole bunch of times:spl:. Finally the nice peacefuk lake.

Then the trip back out, think thats where the wrist finally took its final beating. Stock DR650 makes me a great C rider. C rider makes stock DR650 bad choice for B+. Still had a great time. Thanks Larry & Scott.

Cheers Alex.

Thanks for the ride report Pheonix. A great time was , mostly had by all. What doesn't kill you makes you better. Crazy Larry needs an avatar that represents his " can doo" attitude. Nice pics, I am going to have to steal the one of me at the cliff. BTW the lookout is call Nicomen Knob by the locals.
