We do our very best to keep the prices as low as possible and keep our doors open for business. I can lower them but we will be closed in a few months, what good is that?

Your local shop has everything for we do for the KLR does it? 95% of our items are in stock and ready to ship at all times.

We have anothe pallet load of Mefo's on the way but unfortunatly there are no Mefo Exploror 99 rears available for the distributor, they are still a month away. The pallet being sent has Mefo Knobbies and Exploror 99 fronts. The Knobbies are popular here for the guys in Northern Ontario where road and trail conditions are not alway the best.

Maybe you can comment on this better AVC but I hear from local shops that the biggest issue with them competing with online US stores is that we don't have to pay any duty when buying online but they do. If so, this should be addressed as it puts canadian small business at a big disadvantage.

Your local shop must use that as an excuse to not buy direct from the US. Only some items have duty but luckily the bokerage firm I use almost never collects it.

I will have to say that there are some items cheaper here then the US customer pays, but it isn't a whole lot.

Parts Canada is the biggest reason we pay so much. They still have most items 40-50% higher suggested retail then the US suggested retail. I have called them and an always given the "it cost so much to get the parts across the border" BS. We get 90% of our product from US distributors and even after the shipping it is less the PC wants. There is NO WAY they can compete with the US if they buy from the Canadian distributors, however if they put their thinking caps on they will find better ways.

We still have to use a 25% formula right now over the US price to cover the extra cost of shipments, brokerage fees, exchange and other added expences, NOT the 40% others use.

We are primarily a distributor, but do sell to the public.

I for one would pay a little more from a guy who takes the time tojoin a forum toexplain his side of the story and more than likely will back his products and an on time delivery Im assuming...

Should also add that I've been on the Ontario Dual Sport club for 5 years, 2 years as an executive, AVC sponsors the Nova Scotia Dual Sport club to help pay for their webspace and other expences. We have also been supporting local rides here with donations of product for door prizes. We feel strongly that we need to support the clubs and grassroot organizations.

We are in the process of adding a Suzuki DRZ/KLX400 "Canadian SuperStore" and will be adding all the hard to get items on this side of the border like genuine CFC case guards and the Canadian made "Machinist" MCCT.

So maybe what it is they are talking about is when i come in and say can you get me a "KLR giant fricken laser", they don't like to buy it because it is a one off purchase and the brokerage fees kill them? But if they are ordering a reasonable shipment or number of goods from a US distributer it makes sense.

I try to support local dealers because they are providing convenience, hands on look and trying out, and good return policy. I would support a canadian online company as it would provide direct mail without the border hassle and easier than U.S. product returning if it's no good.

But I hate it when I get the "Canada is it's own market demanding it's own price" bull that I get from automakers and electronic manufacturers. I saw an ad at Future Shop that advertised the highest end video camera from manufacturer XXX for price $XXXX. But then I saw that in the US they have a higher end model that is not sold in Canada. Same camera but better and more features. And it was the same price. So they still wanted their $XXXX but offered you a lower end model for it. And called it the highest end. Highest end model available to Canada I guess:shoot:

If you charge within reasonable range and provide better access and support, it's a deal.
