3 of us from the Okanagan are taking a mini tour of Washington June 11 - 15. I was thinking of trying the Nighthawk border crossing and going straight down to Highway 20 on the side roads through Nighthawk - Loomis and Conconully Lake. Has anyone ever taken this route and can you give me any information on this route. Thank you for any information you can give me.

HI Ken, I have ridden the Nighthawk - Loomis to Hwy 97 a couple of times on my street bike. I am not sure if I've done the section thru Conconully to Hwy 20. My maps show two routes to Hwy 20, one coming out quite alot farther west. The section that I have done is a great back country road thru orchards and cottage country. Mostly poor pavement and marginally 2 lanes. I highly reccomend it, it is my kind of riding. Little or no traffic and nice scenery. Watch out for the ducks crossing the road near the lakes, they own the place.

I did a trip down throught here last spring. It's neat country to ride. I crossed at Nighthawk and followed Loomis-Oroville rd. to Horse Spring Coulee rd. and Pine Creek rd. and came out at Omak. There are lots of dirt roads there some are gated but if you get on the Pine Creek rd I'm sure you could get to Conconully.

This is the trip I did, there is a couple of pic at the beginging of the area you are going. http://www.dualsportbc.com/forums/forum11/1781.html
