WHO & WHAT:

A team comprised of your local ADV Riders intends to ride the 41st Tecate S.C.O.R.E. Baja 1000 this November!

In alphabetical order, the team is comprised of the following riders:
1. Dean Agee (“Deano”)
2. Daniel Jerrett (“Danno”)
3. John Robertson (“JR” & Rider of Record)
4. Marc Springer (“Springer”)
5. TBA (2 Pending Candidates)
6. TBA (2 Pending Candidates)

When & Where:

The race runs from November 19 to November 22, 2008 and everyone seems to be expecting a round-trip course this year, starting and finishing in Ensenada, Mexico. By contrast, the last two years were point-to-point races: (2006) Ensenada to La Paz and (2007) Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas and the 40th Anniversary.

The official race map won’t be published until sometime in September.

WHY:

Have you ever had a dream…a really big dream? Have you already turned that dream into a reality…or are you still waiting for that “PERFECT” moment to get things rolling?

For us, this ride represents our collective belief that, if you have a burning desire to chase down a big dream, NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME!

The time to start pursuing big dreams will never get any better than right now! Don’t wait for someone’s permission, don’t let fear get in the way, just get out there and make it happen!

We hope our journey to Baja and across the finish line will help to inspire and motivate you to reach for your dreams!

BACKGROUND:

The team will be riding a Honda CRF450X specially designed and outfitted for this race, the most grueling, point-to-point, non-stop race on the planet, by the way.

Here’s a stock photo of a CRF450X:

Each rider will tackle at least 150 miles of the most challenging, nasty, and dangerous terrain that Mother Nature has ever dished out, including dodging booby traps and riding at night! The rider order has not yet been established but we will keep you posted!

In fact, please view our website for all the details once it’s up and running. Our web address will be announced very soon and it will include a blog as well!!!

SPONSORS:

We’re teaming up with local sponsors and charities in an attempt to keep our success local so everyone in the greater Seattle area can share the experience of crossing the finish line with us!

I-90 Motorsports (http://www.i-90motorsports.com/default.asp) in Issaquah, WA, provided the bikes and we are extremely grateful. The owner of I-90 Motorsports also happens to own Ride Motorsports (http://www.ridemotorsports.com/) in Woodinville, WA. We couldn’t be happier with the team at I-90 Motorsports! If you’re in the market for a bike, gear, parts, or accessories, go talk to Kurt or Brent at I-90 Motorsports – they are totally committed to making you happy.

Given the brands they represent they are well equipped to care of your riding needs! They offer: Honda, Yamaha, KTM, Triumph, Ski-Doo, and Sea-Doo. Check them out today!

Mercy Corps (http://www.mercycorps.org/) is our charitable partner and all net proceeds from our procurement and sponsorship efforts will go directly to this locally based, worldwide charity. Folks, this is a truly fantastic charity and I hope you’ll keep in mind, when you’re buying anything or supporting us financially, that you’ll also be helping raise funds and awareness for a very, very good cause. We’ll be selling all kinds of things on the website, including a DVD we’ll produce after the race! Keep checking our website once it’s launched!

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:

Knowing what a great community ADV Rider is both locally and globally, we would also like to enlist the support of all the adventuresome women and men that make up this diverse and fun group! We need your support in a big way, too!

Once the website is up and running, you’ll be able to help support the team by purchasing official team items mentioned above and we’ll also provide a way for you to contribute financial support…and every dollar counts!!!

Also, do you know someone or a company perhaps that supports off-road racing, or produces “adventure” or racing gear of some sort? How about a friend trying to position a new product in the off-road marketplace? We’re here to offer our testing and promotion services! All serious inquiries will be considered.

Or, are you able to travel with us to Baja in November? Would you like to be part of our pit crew and support team? Let us know by sending me a PM! All serious inquiries will be considered.

We look forward to running a successful race and thank you so much for your support!

Life’s Better in Baja!™

Mucho Gracias,

Deano, Danno, JR & Springer
