LastSaturday July 12, Sharky and I went on a ride on the road that connects Sun Peaks and Adams Lake. The road was in worst shape then I thought it was going to be but it was still a pretty easy ride. Since it connects Sun Peaks and Adams Lake I thought it would be a very good road and heavily used but it was just the opposite. You could make it with a car but it would probably be better if it was a rental :D. I had the route pre programmed in my GPS. This turned out to be a good thing as we took several wrong turns and had to double back to get on track. We rode on pavement to Sun Peaks, dirt to Adams Lake, pavement to Scotch Creek, pavement from Scotch Creek to Chase and pavement and dirt on Shuswap Road form Chase back to Kamloops. The total trip was 210 km. We gassed up at Scotch Creek. I took 8.7 liters in my SE and Sharky took about half that in his 250 Kawasaki. Turned out to be a very good ride and the weather was perfect.

This is at Sun Peaks.

We'restoppedin clearing not too far from Sun Peaks. That's Shuswap Lake in the background.

There was only a couple of big openings on the entire dirt road from Sun Peaks to Adams Lake. Most of the road was surrounded by heavy bush. I took the next picture of Adams Lake from this spot.

Why did we stop?Because I knew he had hamburgers and cold drinks on hand. Besides, he wanted to show off his new to him Yamaha 50. We praised his little 50 until he ran out of hamnburgers....then we told him we wouldn't be caught dead on one. His previous bike was a Harley. I'm not sure if a Yamaha 50 is a step down, or up :).

This was our last stop. We're just north of Pritchard on Shuswap Road.
