Hi there - anyone done a ride from Harrison to Pemberton, highwayto Lilooet and down the West side from Lillooet back to down to Harrison? If so, can it be done on a long day (with pit stop @ St. Agnes hot springs of course!). Any helpful advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know if this info helps but I live in Mission and have done Mission up West
Harrision FSR to Port Douglas and back to Mission in 1 day.
Sight seeing on the way up stopped twenty mile bay couple of other places.
Went up to weaver lake.
That turned into a day trip by itself put on 330 kms mostly dirt.

So I would say the trip you are thinking is possible but you'll be given er all day to
do it without much sightseeing.

Hope this helps

You are looking at a 600+ KM day plus the trip to and from Harrison

If you do not know the route

If you cant maintain highway speeds off road

If you are ridng anything less that 400cc

Forget it, its too much for one day

If you plan at stopping a the hot springs and taking some pictures, plan on two days. that way you should make it back in one piece.

Do a search "harrison" on the route on this forum and you will find a couple of more threads.

Have fun

It's do-able but count on anywhere from 9 - 12 hours...that is if you don't have any issues on West Harrison. West Harrison is pretty rough right now so you won't be averaging much more than about 20 - 30kph for about 10 kms. Like Tom said, if you want to stop at all, go for the 2 day trip.

Hi everyone and thanks for the help. What was I thinking...one day. Strongleftleg, big thanks to you for pics and a detailed report of roads, etc. Great pics! We camped at Lizzie Bay on Lillooet Lake last weekend (don't even get me started about the swarms of mosquitos), heard a bunch of bikes go by - must have been your group. Thanks too for the info on the Seton Portage Motel - didn't know there was one there - will be calling in my reservation today as my husband and I are going to do this route next weekend. Thanks all!

Hey strongleftleg - by the way are you the group of Longshoremen (with Clive(?)) that were camped beside us at the Dead Zone? We were the couple that had the roof top tent on our Landcruiser......

We did something similar end of June. We didn't do East side Harrison back as we weren't sure it was open, but did West side Lillooet to Boston Bar instead.

I live in Burnaby, so it was around 730 km from there. Fairly straight forward, and nothing very challenging so you can rack up the miles quickly.

Somepictures from the trip (no narration):

GPS track if you want it is attached. It's not sorted or anything, too lazy. :-)

I've done this in a group; I was on a DRZ400S along with 2 x XR650L and a KTM640A. North Van to Pemberton on the road, back down Harrison West and on to NV on the road. 13 hours, lots of stopping for pictures, check out the nudists in St Agnes and the partiers in Skookumchuk. It would've been an hour shorter, but the chain roller broke on my DRZ and it took a while to figure out what had broken in the dark.

I am anxious to do this one again, but not sure that I want to tackle it on my DL650.

Is Boston Bar to East Harrison open for sure? I want to ride it this weekend solo on my Vstrom 650. I would much rather do the backroad than the Trans Canada but don't want to get stuck either....

I've taken the Strom over Grey Creek and Fauqier powerline so she can handle rough stuff. Is there traffic on this road should anything happen?

Vstrom should be fine I do this road 3/4 time a year to get to my destination and always enjoy it .

The road is in very good shape with a few big hole ,I put very large tree in them already .No trafic at all only the first 20km on each side .

I do it solo with all the nessecery tools/tube ext . need good tires .

150km aprox

Came back on this road on monday with no problem .

Have a good day !!!:f:

Frog - thanks for the feedback.I'll be doing this route on the VStrom sometime, but it needs a skid plate to deflect the rocks first. I loved riding it on my DRZ.

Is there a route from the end of the west harrison FSR up north that stays off the duffy? All the routes I find go into pemberton...
