Would anyone like to ride to Nitinat Lake on Sunday Sept 7.It 's about a 300 kmround trip from Victoria. Leaving Tim's Millstream0900 up to Cowichan Lake to Nitinat Lake back by Port Renfrew? Doug

Is it mostly logging roads and would it be okay for a guy renting a bike (he's ridden before, mostly street and quads)
Also, is there fuel along the way??/
Thanks, Adam

its100 km of logging in and out . Wind surfers travel it in cars.Gas up at Cowihan Lake should note be a problem most bikes. As for what time we get back to Victoria mid afternoon it depends on how many go and how many stops, after we get back to Cowihan lake you could burn back to Victoria if you need to get back. Doug

Maybe
Similar timing to the PR road ride posted elsewhere. We could connect for part of it if you met a bit earlier. I'm on the road ride since my dualsport is unavailable for now.;)

Just so you know...........I think you'll find that the "logging roads" will be in violation of the rental agreement. I believe that means that they'll ding your charge card with upto $1000.00 if they sniff you've been "Off-Road".
I rented a Super Sherpa once, and they had 3 guys go over it with a fine tooth comb when I returned it. Even though the bike was spotless, they ended up charging me $100.00 for some marks (looked like minor brush slaps) on the front fender.
Good thing I hadn't taken it on the "Salt Spring Enduro", dumped it a couple of times, wrapped the rear brake lever back upon itself, and gone where some think it's good for a trials bikes. Gee...that would've meant a couple of hours of cleaning to avoid a $1000.00 charge.;);););)

Leaving downtown Victoria at 8:30, so it depends on travel conditions and driving attitude. I am in for sure:tup:.

Great ride. A bear and cub high tailed it off the road when they heard us coming not so fora three foot piece of 2x4.
Lots of great logging roads of varying surfaces. Pot holes a plenty and stretches of clean gravel.
According to the Garmin 392 kms and5632 meters in ascent.
By the pic I see you were very close to Carmanah. Looks like a good trip.
