Just went out to McNutt (for the first time), and can't believe what I've been missing out on! Loads of fun! Weather held up nicely. My buddy and I were looking for the right trail to take us up the mountain (coming from 256th) and had a bit of a hard time finding it. We found all kinds of trials trails, etc but not "the one" (unless they all go to the same point???)

Anyway...Finally got on the 'Sandman Trail', and got near the switchbacks when a spill left me with a broken chain, broken counter sprocket, broken mirror and busted kickstand...hmmm. Got a bit of "sinking" feeling when I started to think about having to hike back.

Ended up pretty much aiming the front wheel straight down the mountain, through the brush into a little "canyon" and over the other side, thorugh some more trees/brush to a gravel pit....whoohoo! made it to 256th! My buddie let me quickly borrow his truck and I dropped the bike off at the KTM shop on Lougheed.Back in business by 5:15! It did demostrate the big disadvantage of dual-sporting :once the bike is done, you're ALSO done.... ;-) Still we had a great time! Have to go back...soon...

Riding with guys with no plates, you just know they are going to drag you into somewhere you wouldnt nomally go.

Nice vids, Its been a couple of years since I been up there, guess I will have to go real soon.

Too bad you got stuck at Sandman. That's the entry trail. The fun begins after that. I ride there all the time. I wouldn't ride the 525 too much there cause it will beat the crap out of you and bike too.

Once we got on that trail we were having a blast (even on the 525), but I can see that a smaller bike might be the better option for that area. Still, I will need to have another crack at that trail with the 525 (My only other option is a BMW F650GS which *sarcasm* might not be ideal for the area)...;)
I envy the people that live in that area! very cool!
