Well, Frog & I have been busy, busy, busy. We have come back recently from Oregon after filming for 8 days doing the old Oregon trail. This trail stretches from Northern California to Walla Walla Washington & travels through High Alpine, rolling hills, Sand dunes & finally Beautiful pine forests.
I promise I will write up a ride report before the DVD comes out. I should have lots of time now that my 950 has officially blowed up the motor. I think either the headgaskets are gone or the water jacket has been leaking for awhile (I have only had it to the dealer 2x for this).
Here is the Link to view the trailer. They should have the site up & running within the week but right now it just keeps directing you to a e-mail. The trailer looked great & we are really excited about this DVD coming out. We will let people know when & how to purchase once it is officially out.
http://www.motoventurefilms.com/ TRAILER IS NOW AVAILABLE ON WEBSITE!!!
Here is one picture of me in the sand dunes & ultimately failing miserably.

TL...
That is an awesome pic. I stumbled accross it on ADVrider last night and was gonna post it here...good for a few laughs. If you aren't plowing through snowdrifts in Squamish...you're roosting in the dunes.
I can't wait to see the vid. Your riding buds have first dibs right?
When are you getting the bike back? Hopefully soon. It would be awesome to do another couple of rides before it gets too rainy/snowy/cold.
Say "hey" to Claude for me!

Here is Claude & Thor sweating their butts off after 100 miles in the desert.
We will try & get a discount offer for DSBC'ers
The Katoom is getting picked up by tow truck tommorrow as it is clacking like an old rusty sewing machine (oil filter collapsed) so I'm thinking I'm done for the season.
I'm pretty sure it is going to get a new Motor. Who knows

Congrats on your adventure DVD. I just watched the trailer. Looks like you were all having too much fun.
Just to make you feel better Tracy here's a photo of me failing miserably in the Oregon Dunes (on a smaller, lighter bike WITH a paddle tire and no luggage):

You should be able to add your name to the pre-order list. They will contact you when the DVD is ready & send it out.
Let me know if you have any problems.

Hey everyone!! The DVD is in the completion stage & they are showing it at the Seattle Motorcycle show this weekend.
We should have a copy by next week which means that if you order, you shall recieve by mid-December. Just in time for Christmas!!!
The footage we have viewed so far is stunning. There should even be enough drama to keep the non-enthusiasts interested.

I'll put another mention in for the tunes, they're essential for this type of adventure video. For myself coming from a downhill mountain biking background this style of video has been getting people jacked about riding bikes for some time, it's good that it's making its way over to adventure motor bike riding now too.
It's all about the good times, not just geeking out on parts and what bike etc. Music, smiles and tom foolery!

Excellent!! I'm glad you got it right away!
We had a lot of fun filming & riding on that trip. It's unfortunate that the camera, even in HD could not capture just how difficult some of that terrain is. If any of you DSBC'rs have ever thought about doing the OBDR, I highly recommend it. You get just about everything you can imagine sometimes all in one day.
The 950 was a bit of a beast in the sand but if I had to do it all over again, I would still take it just for the amount of weight it can carry. Realistically, when you are doing this type of trip, you won't have a support van meeting you every night. The cold beers at the end of the day were a bonus though.
Here are some more comments about the film from ADVrider.
