    C Route info

The C (easy route) is almost done. I will be marking the trails tomorrow. This ride will have a bit of everything:
    • pavement
    • FSRs (Forest Service Roads)
    • jeep trails
    • some mud (if it rains then some more mud)
    • some rocks
    • some up hills and some down hills
    • and if you're feeling adventurous then you can attempt some of the harder options at the end of the ride that that MikeO wants to arrow for your enjoyment (or his enjoyment as he'll be there to watch you go thru those trails)
It's not a particularily long route but it will be scenic and there will be a bit of everything. It's just what you would expect an EZ Dualsport ride to be. I expect the average rider to be out there for 3 hours or so.

Now for the good news: I have GPS tracks!!!! I will be posting them for you to download in the next day or so.

I will also have a map with directions and instructions available at the rider's meeting on Sunday morning. MAKE SURE YOU GET A MAP!!!!!! Even though there will be arrows out there sometimes they get removed before the event by animals, the weather or disgruntled individuals.

The GPS tracks will be posted on this thread so watch for them.

    Anyone have any questions............

    Judy

As promised, here are the GPS tracks for the 2011 Fall Newbie Ride.

Download at your own risk, I assume no responsibility for anyone using these tracks and getting lost because they did not use them in conjuction with the map and route sheet. Or for anyone who crashes into a tree or into another rider because they were too busy looking at their GPS and not on the trail in front of them.

    Enjoy!

Was not able to convert to Magellin files. Any other format available? See you in the AM!

I think it's safe to say that a good time was had by all...
Met up with a fellow TW jockey at this event, I believe his name was Peter and that he was from Surrey. He said he was going to do the C route, so I "invited" myself in with his group.
Imagine my surprise when he left the parking lot and turned RIGHT ...I gave chase for a few hundred yards, honking and flailing, but lost him when they entered the woods at the beginning of the B course...then I thought that maybe I mis-heard him!
Oh well! Nonetheless, I waited for him and his group further along, by the Chipmunk turnoff...then again on the Bench...and again at the Majuba Hill turn, but alas, no TW kindred-spirit!

Maybe on the Spring ride then!

Took a few photos and some crappy videos...not worth uploading, I'll leave that to others.

Thanks to all who organized and made this come together, it was fun and it IS appreciated!

TW, I saw you give chase to Peter and thought that both of you would catch up once the proper direction of travel was discovered, I'd say next time we need to keep a leash on the keen newbie so we don't let them get away....
