I'm assuming this is spam, as someone actually riding to Argentina probably wouldn't spell it two different ways (both of them wrong).

We had a young guy working for us a few years ago. He sold everything(didn't really have much) and took off arround the world with his GF for 2 years....with no plans.
He had a cpl good stories.
1 was buying a KTM690 (i think it was) and the 2 of them rode it from Argentina to Kamloops. They put on 30,000km , it broke down in Panama or something. He tore the motor appart in a hotel room and got a new part machined, re-assembled and continued on their way. It broke down in Mexico somewhere again, it was the machined part. They ordered the new KTM part, re-assembled and continued home !
My life has a superb cast, but I can't figure out the plot...

Oops- pardon my spam comment: the website link appears legitimate and contains (at least in the first couple of posts) some entertaining reading. Especially if you enjoy the sort of misadventures encountered by inexperienced, ill-prepared boozers that some might say are way over their heads (so far, I'm quite enjoying it!)

I just came back from this trip but we went the other way. Argentina to Vancouver also on KLRs

Central America borders require a lot of patience... and i mean a lot. be prepared to wait and wait. be careful who you give your money too as everyone is trying to scam some money off you somehow. but it can be a positive experience if you show up early and take your time. Just show them that you have all the time in the world... Fixers sometimes help... it was hit and miss with them. the cambios at the borders are pretty sketchy so be prepared and know the exchange rate.

if havent you looked into crossing the darien gap you should start doing some researching. Look up Fritz the cat or the steelrat. Or you can fly with your bike to Bogota which is the more expensive and not as a adventurous route. If you decide to take a sail boat with your bikes you get to go through the san blas islands which is amazing... others have had bad experiences with sea sickness but for us it was worth it. cost us around 900 CAD for bike and passenger for 5 days (food and accomadation). so not too bad vs 1500 to fly from bogota to panama.

If you want to know more just ask! you can also check out our blog where we have links to some useful information. www.southandback.blogspot.com

Enjoy the ride! There's too much too see.
