Well, another NI Ride is in the books, after a large # of cancellations and no shows we ended up with a great group of about 15 riders for Saturdays ride... The weather forecast looked grim calling for rain on Fri-Sat-Sun but just like last year we had very little until Sunday early AM and it quit for the day at around 8AM... Here are some pics:

On Thursday we did a mountain loop, conditions were dusty and hot with a high of 30.9C near Woss...

Even up high you couldn't escape the heat...

We pulled into camp around 6 PM and welcomed some shade...

I was telling Stephen how the boulders move on their own and leave little trails, of coarse he didn't believe me until these 4 had him scrambling to move his tent...

On Friday we rode the Cave Trail and then caught the Ferry to M.I. and set up Camp...

The weather was perfect, food was good along with the scenery...

The whales hang out in this area for most of the summer and swim by a couple times a day, this is looking out from our campfire area...

Black lake, the water is so dark you cannot see anything in the water past the 1 ft depth mark...

Our group shot Sat am, we're missing Dennis as I gave him the wrong info for the early ferry and he had to catch a later one, sorry about that...

    The Cabin trail bridge...

It poured rain from about 4 AM to 8 AM Sunday and then kindly quit in time for us to pack up and leave...

Scott and Mel giving the good bye salute...

We took in breakfast at the Bistro and then most of the group caught the eleven boat to the big Island... Don, Cody and Greg stayed to do more riding...

This time the ferry was free...

I rode with Greg for a couple of hours and we took in a few of the sights that he had missed the day before... We saw Don and Cody ride by on the Kaleva road but never did catch up with them that day...

Gregs monster lights are super bright, even in full daylight...

Thanks to everyone for making NI 2012 a most enjoyable experience and thanks to Ted for providing one of the best host sites we have ever had the privilege to use...

I will put a video together with some of the weekends adventures when time permits...

    Once again,
Thanks , for good times and great memories...
    David...

Thanks for a great ride everyone. Especially Dave for making it happen and Ted and Karen for hosting. What a fab camp spot. The ride has a different flavor every year and it's always good.

This stump was logged around 100 years ago which means that the log it grew on fell around 200 years ago and it's still solid under all the duff

Hi Steve, it was great that you were able to make it up again this year... Once again you made getting the big GS through the rough spots look easy... I'll try bringing up your pics without the cliklinks...
