Breaky at Bruces' and then West Stave this Sunday, April 15.

The plan is to meet at Bruces' Country Market for breakfast at 9:00AM and then go for an exploratory ride up west Stave. There will be some technical trails that we know about and quite likely we'll get into more that we don't so this ride is not recommended for inexperienced riders. It is also not recommended for big bikes unless you are comfortable with riding B+ trails. Post up if you're interested.

I'm currently thinking I could be in for at least eggs and bacon, and if possible on the bike just a light touch of gravel on my big Bike.

    Cheers, Alex.

That's great, Alex. Maybe we can get two groups going - one riding The B route and one riding a C route.

I'am trying to get back into DS'ing. If Alex comes I would be interested in the C ROUTE.

    Brian and Alex,

Volcon (Greg) said that he's coming out on his KLR but is not interested in riding the B route. It looks like we'll have two groups heading out on Sunday with something for everybody; c'mon sunshine!!!

Hey Brian long time no see, I'm still riding the DR650. Haven't had the knobs hit gravel since late last year, so will be looking to get back in for a couple of hours of working out the cobwebs.

    Cheers, Alex.

I guess we will be hitting some snow.

I 'am going to start cheating and bring the bike in the pickup. Tired of droning down the Hwy from North Van and freezing my ass off.

Can you leave a vehicle in Bruce's parking lot for a few hours.

    Looking forward to the ride.

A guy I work with was at bolder bay (Alouete lake ) last weekend and said there was no snow to speak of. The wife and I will be heading there on saturday as it is suposed to be the better of the two days. Planning to ride from the langley 200th area with a fairly early start. Any one interested?

Hey Scooter, if you're not comfortable leaving your truck at Bruce's, my place is between there and Stave, with lots of room. You can leave it here if you like. I am about 10 minutes east of Bruce's. Same for you John if you truck out.

Thanks, Jon. I prefer to truck my bike straight to the trailhead. I'm running non DOT knobbies and I'm not very enthusiastic about grinding them down on the asphalt.

Scooter, Bruces will not allow extended parking on their lot, but there is all day parking on 240th right across from Bruces. I've parked there several times.

Thanks for the offer Jon. Ignore my PM.

I will do the parking across the street from Bruces. Thanks John for the suggestion

Bruces Country Market is on the northwest corner of 240th St and Lougheed Hwy, in Albion. It's where the traffic from the old Albion ferry used to meet up with the Lougheed Hwy.

Well, it looks like we've got a nice little C group all lined up. Anybody else interested in joining Jon and me for the B ride? The B designation is actually a little misleading as most of that ride will be C or C+, but there will be some short B sections to get around obstacles, and perhaps one or two longer optional B sections.

Hey John, I'm game for the B ride if its not raining. My kitchen reno gets the call over a rainy ride though.
You usually get non posters showing up anyway right?
    Looking forward to it.

Great stuff Len, how about Peter, is he up for it? We usually do get some non posters showing up, I'm hopeful that some of the usual crowd will be there, but ya never know.

Looks like the weather is going to be OK tomorrow. If it's a light drizzle, or intermittent I'll go, but not if it's pouring. I'll post up here tomorrow morning around 7:00 if I'm going or not. One good thing about living in Ladner is that you get to see the weather first because it comes from the west and travels east. The weather conditions in Ladner will move to the Mission area in several hours so it's a pretty good indication of how the day will go weather wise.

    Peter has to work
I'll probably be riding out, leaving the Timmys @ Mary hill and Kingsway at 8:45 if anyone is not sure how to get there.

I'm a solid maybe, but need to be on a ferry back to the Sunshine Coast by the late afternoon, can you give me any idea how late you think you'll be done riding? I'd love to come out and ride some new ground!

We'll probably finish up around 3:00 to 3:30, might be a little later than that but I doubt it. The quickest way back for you would be to go over the Mission bridge and pick up the freeway at Mt Lehman road, west of Abbotsford. The Lougheed is usually gridlocked in the afternoon.

165 km on e day. No snow up there. the gate to Alouete is open, take advantage of it now as there is activity down there. rode up past there into the clouds and there was no snow to speek of. turned around before the end as we could not see for the fog. Great day for a birthday ride. Have fun tomorow.
