I am interested in this as well. I will be heading from the states to Lytton in 2 weeks and was looking at this route on the map.
    Anyone have any tracks?

Last year we couldn't get through Kookipi until a week into July. We wanted to use it as a route to the 2011 Routledge run in Princeton on the July 1 weekend but it was still snowbound. Considering how cold June has been this year it's doubtful that you'll be able to get through yet. We're thinking of giving it a try on the long weekend this year so I'm really interested in how you find the conditions tomorrow.

If you need a GPS track for this route PM me your email address and I'll send it to you. Same thing for you Harry, I've made the trip up to Lytton many times and have reliable, "as ridden" tracks for the route. I can send you the GPS file all the way to Lillooet and beyond if you want. You can also find a copy of the track, available for download, here:

    Hope this helps.

A motorcycle will go anywhere the rider has the ability to take it.

No problem with snow, no dust either! But not big bike friendly due to a few washouts around the 70Km mark. Passable for a good rider on a smaller bike with help. Need someone to improve on our bridge building efforts, before this route can be considered "open".

We made one washout KLR passable, but despite our best efforts only one rider (DRZ) barely made it through the second one. He scouted ahead and determined the road to be clear through the pass before returning. If you are planning on going, you will need at least 2 other riders to help ferry the bikes over our 2 log bridge and rock garden (provided the whole thing did not wash away again). A shovel, a saw, some rope and about an hour of bst could make this a viable option.
