    West Harrison FSR to Pemberton

    Hi

Thinking of riding the West Harrison FSR to Pemberton tomorrow June 24th returning via the S2S, if anyone is interested in joining. Am fairly new to off road and will be on a KTM950 so the pace will be very moderate and big bike friendly. Have done it once last year.

Will only go if someone else wants to come along, so please email me at talkwithneil@gmail.com if you're interested in joining and we can discuss a meet point and time.

    Neil

The road is in good shape with a couple of extended water crossings with the high water level. Most notably at the end of Harrison lake by the logging operation. Great trip overall

Just curious, was the water crossing deep or more just wide? I did this run last year on my r1200gs and found one crossing over the top of my boot. I'm thinking of doing it again this weekend, so am wondering if the run-off from a few weeks ago had more or less dried up when you went.

I've never done this ride, but was planning on goin Aug 4th with a buddy. Hope you guys can answer a couple questions.
    1. How far is the next fuel stop from the Chehalis Band Station? I've heard 200km.
    2. What is the travel time riding at a relaxed pace?

    Thanks,

    Nez.

I did this last year. I think it was about 150 k's from Chehalis to pemberton. When you get to the end of harrison the road forks, we went left. If you take your time it's 3 or 4 hours, depends on how fast you ride or if you want to go to the hot springs??

Does anyone know where the 'hidden' hot springs are? I have done the East Side Harrison road but assume the hotsprings aren't marked

There is the Sloquet Hotspring on the west side, just past the north end of the lake harrison. I think that it's 11 km in on the Sloquet road off of west harrison.

And farther north there is Skookumchuck hot springs which is on the east side of the lillooet river. Some guy own the spot, if I remember right. The Sloquet hot spring is a government site.

The hot springs further north at St. Agnes (Skookumchuck) are MUCH cleaner than Sloquet, plus it is easier to keep an eye on your bike. Worth the extra riding time in my opinion.

The other thing about sloquet is that it feels great to soak all the dust off and to maybe heat some of the stiffness out of the old bones. But once you're all relaxed and warm, it's time for the hot, sweaty hike back up the hill to your bike. So the last thing you want to do when you reach the top is to put back on all your gear. :-P

How far is the hot springs from the Chehalis gas station on west harrison road? I only know of sloquet hot springs. Also, I see that you have a 1991 xr250r, I have a 14 litre gas tank for this model. I sold the bike and don`t need the tank. Fits 1987 through 1996 models. I will sell it cheap if you want it.
