Stop sugar coating it and say what you really think.
I don't know anything about the new the Huskies, but I wish they would sort out the Canadian Distributor thing and get parts flowing again.
Still, I do love my 610.
They have sorted the Distributor for Canada, and I think the 511 is a great bike!
i sold my 05 husky in 08,because they were sorting out their parts and distributors at a complete snails pace. it's sad to see that they are still "working on it"! nice bikes with no support-sorry I'm out.
BMW USA imports all the parts for Husky down there now. The switch to BMW Canada is almost sorted up here and it won't be long.

With BMW on board look for nothing but great things to come from
Husqvarna. The Canadian distributor has just done a dealers audit last Monday at our store. And parts are flowing freely with tons of tech support for the service staff and clients.
On another note, I just took my new 511 out for its first bush abuse and it faired just fine. Uncorked it, put the free akropovic pipe on and changed the bars and put hand guards on. The thing is a monster!
Why would you come to this thread and post your negative opinion, I dont come to your house a shit all over the carpet. Maybe your trying to stir up the pot? A blanket statement without any supporting facts
Maybe I should get my newspaper and treat you like the dog your acting like.
I have two Huskies
One with 5000+ kms zero problems
the other with 160 hours zero problems
Its obvious I spend a lot of hours in the saddle and never ride alone. I cant say the same about the other bikes that ride with me.
Finally I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also am a Husky owner with nothing but glowing reports on my machine, When all the distributorship issues are rectified I can see nothing but growth in Canada!
I think most of us would agree that the best models were designed before BMW took over, and the ones being launched by BMW are inferior in a lot of respects.
Moving away from the Husky mill and going to the Rotax is taking away from the brand legacy. Higher wieght/Lower performance is not what the hardcore Husky fan is looking for. I think the OP is posting in that mindset.

tom you own two husky's... pre bmw medaling. in fact your txc450 is considered to be one of the best enduro bikes in 450cc range. and the te310 is the last of the husky design from the te250.
go and ride a te449 or te511 and then tell me you don't notice something significantly different. i started this thread a month ago when i saw the two new TR650 as per above. Can't tell me when you look at that picture you don't see a GS650 resemblance. Lets face facts, BMW makes great bikes but have made horrible dirt bikes. That is why they are losing the dirtbikers and long time owners like me with the current crap they have in the showroom now.
I wasn’t' trying to shit on anything just merely express my own opinion. if you don't like me expressing my opinion then just delete this thread. I'm tired of getting shit on because i don't agree with you. in fact feel free to delete my account.
p.s. here is the last great husky in action from sunday:

I wonder who doesn't like whos opinion?
Did you think you could just pop into the Husky section and express you displeasure with BMW and tell us how bad our bikes where (In your opinion)?
Nope I just could not stand by without expressing my opinion on your opinion.
For the record your opinion is wrong (in my opinion)
PS I dont have to disagree with with you to delete your account, I can do that anytime.

Time for a bunt to "Bad Dog"?*
*not intended as a slight against Husky
Tom I seem to stuck a nerve with you again. That was not my intent. I've owned two huskys for about five years now and I'm absolutely heart broken on what BMW did to them. I guess I'm having trouble letting go but it's time to move on for me wrt to husky and get something else. I didn't mind the parts debacle for the last 4 years. I can always get parts out of the US. It the direction they've taken.

TE 310 great bike and a good choice. You must get the JD FI kit to make the bike sweet. I just got this email this morning from a guy in Oregon that was complaining about the bikes performance and was thinking about getting out of DS riding. Its a bit of a story of how we connected but the end result is below.
..........................................
We talked at the Conference about how you have a great setup with your JD Kit. Please reply with your settings for Zane's 2012 TE310, so he doesn't abandon hope and stay solely on the tarmac. :-)
thanks!

Hi Tom and thanks Tawmn…
Anyway, I have the JD kit for my 2012 TE310. I am using his recommended settings but the off-idle throttle abruptness remains. I was told by a dealer that the TXC310 update kit fixes the problem but that is another $380.
Tawmn mentioned that you had resolved the issue with the JD kit. What settings are you using and what year is your TE310?
Best regards, Zane
.................................................. ....
Hi Tom;
What a difference those settings made, unbelievable!
I started with 4.5 5 3.5 4.5 5.5 5 before using your settings. I can now bump along at a crawl and crack the throttle without coughing and then having the bike go crazy. I need to try it out on a trail but a note of thanks to you.
I am going to email JD about this.

Here's the TR650 and the GS650 side by side.
This discussion is about a matter of personal preferences and makes about as much sense as two people arguing whether chocolate or vanilla ice cream tastes better. Some people on this forum are interested in riding street legal dirt bikes, their main focus is riding in the dirt and they will ride on pavement only when they absolutely have to. These people ride KTM EXCs, Beta RR/RSs, Shercos, Husabergs and similar bikes. Others prefer a more balanced mix of dirt and street and ride bikes such as KLRs, DR650's, KTM 990s and the two above pictured bikes. Still others want a bike basically for the street with a little FSR riding, and these people ride bikes like V-Stroms and R1200GSs.
One of the basic requirements for a Dualsport bike is they gotta be street legal. Lev, in my opinion, you are a dirt bike rider trying to express the dirt bike attitude on a Dualsport forum. As a dirt bike rider it's obvious that you are not going to like any compromise that must be made to a dirt bike in order to make it street legal, and there's nothing wrong with that, it's just your preference and it's a perfectly good one. But when you come on this forum and criticize a company for moving in a direction that makes their product a more balanced Dualsport bike, ie more street oriented, and then try to sell your point by posting a video of you riding a 2 stroke dirt bike not even close to being street legal, I think you're a little out of line. I've ridden with you before and I respect your opinions and your riding ability but this is a dual sport forum, not a dirt bike forum and you've gotta keep that in mind.
Let's just chill out a little and give to each his own. If somebody prefers a different type of bike than you do, don't worry about it, he's a biker at heart just like you. You can still do your thing and he can still do his and at the end of the day we can all be friends without arguing and putting somebody down because he happens to have a different preference than you do.

Yikes
Im not sure I understand what direction this is going.
Is the unsubstantiated opinion of Franhoser, and starting it with WTF, provocative and will lead to stimulating discussion? You want to start a conversation with WTF, you had better be prepared for the response. In this particular case I felt I was answering back in kind. There was no threat of censorship and no prejudice on my part. I called it how I saw it.
Franhoser came to to the Husky thread to s**t on BMW, and that is ok by me, but be prepared.......................................... you might be made to clean up your mess.
Im not picking on anyone here, I am responding to a comment, in a way I thought the poster could understand. I have been in this forum thing for a long time and I must say that the vast vast majority of posts and their authors are very good. I do however see more than my fair share of posts that are unsubstantiated rants, for the most part I let them slide, but on a very very rare occasion I have to deal with them. This is not one of those occasions, I like that Franhosers comment lite my hair on fire to the point that I had to respond and I really like that my response has struck up more conversation. I am saddened that Franhoser wants to be deleted, but Im not sorry.
Nope this site is not going to change, (not yet anyhow) you can post what you want (within reason) but if you going to take a shot at me, I probably will shoot back. Someone dont like the way Im doing things, no problem, post away. I generally wear my big boy pants and ready to answer anyone. Beware though I sometimes get busy with other motorcycle duties (like trying to protect our area to ride) and of course I go riding, a lot, so it might take me some time to respond from time to time.
Thanks for letting me vent, I needed it.

Forgot to add.....good response Farp, I agree

I've owned the TE630, 630sms, TC449 and now the TE511. All of which were very capable and fun bikes to ride in the trail and on the street with minimal problems. The intake boot needs to be tightened on, the spark plug gap should be checked and the bike should immediately be uncorked. As well the TE310 has a quarter turn throttle, remove that right away and you have a beast of a bike. I'm not racing nor am I an experienced dirt rider but I am happy with my bike and really enjoy how well it preforms even with a novice rider piloting it. Husky's aren't for everyone, if you like to spend a ton of money maintaining your race bred dirt bike then buy a KTM or Husaberg![]()
We've been applauded over the years for running a relatively clean & positive site. The 'yo momma' type threads / posts are discouraged - there are plenty of other sites for that.
+1 for the great comment, John.
Lev started a thread here; either ill-conceived or with an intent to provoke. Perhaps he thought he was on another site or that the discussions needed a kickstart?
I enjoy riding & communicating with Lev. He is positive, sincere and has a unique POV & sense of humour. Ditto for my friend Tom. No one threatened a deletion or banning - Lev brought this up. Two opinionated smart-mouths start in on each other and then Ron comes in as an unsolicited white knight...
I own two carbed TE450's. I love them and would buy more if I could find one in a crate. The FI Huskies in this class, in my opinion, have suffered engine & frame redesigns that would discourage me from making a purchase.
