After many years of neglect, the old Buffalo Jump trail had grown in that it became unrideable.

For those of you who dont the Buffalo Jump trail (probably most of you) about 15 years ago it was used for the Piston Run Race and then several years after that it was used for the Mystery Creek Dual Sport Ride (no longer) The trail is roughly 7 kms and us the highest trail in the Church Mtn Bowl. thats above the Tamihi Connector and above Sno 250.

There has always been talk of clearing the brush, but by the time the snow clears everyone has their summer riding plans in order and the trail gets forgotten for another year. For the past couple of years some of us have taken some initiative to get started on the job of brushing this trail out.

Many of you that did the hard loop at the last Nubee ride my remember Atheist Ridge Trail. The crazy ledge along the slide area is where the old Buffalo Jump trail enters.

This past July 14-15 some of us went up and started the process of clearing the last 5 km of trail, we managed to clear over 2 kms. We also help a quad guy who rolled his quad off the church loop, some 100 feet off the trail. Got him back on the trail and riding. (but thats another story) Very successful weekend.

With any luck we will have this trail completed by the Fall Nubee Ride for the Hard Loop.

If any of you think you can pick up and throw brush off the trail we would appreciate any help you could offer. The work is hard, the pay is nil. so whatever you end up with will be a bonus. This will be a nice loop with some spectacular views.
