    Hey all

    Hey everyone,

just joined this forum looking for info on some cool routes to ride and possibly some people to ride with. I'm located in Smithers, I'm a fairly capable rider on a DR650, mostly interested in trail riding but don't mind scenic or windy, curvy dirt roads...will ride highways as necessary. So far I've checked out some of the more local spots like Telkwa Pass, Telkwa microwave (Winfield Creek Road), the Dome Mtn trail, the Orange Road up Onion Mtn, Lawson Road to Houston, Telkwa High Road, etc. I have been 4x4ing up Nine Mile in Hazelton but I have heard rumour that it's possible to connect from Iltzul West FSR off Suskwa FSR to Nine Mile Mtn, and then down the 4x4 trail back to Two Mile, anyone try this? Anyone try the Suskwa Pass to Fort Babine? Or the Sibola Mountains / Mount Sweeney area south of Houston? Is there any decent riding around Burns...never rode there either.

Nine Mile does have a Quadébike loop up and over and back around as said and is very snotty coming down the back side...going up would not be much fun

What do you consider the "back" side of 9 Mile? I've only been up there twice in my pickup, but I'd think that'd be from the front side, up from 2 Mile.

I read the Red Rose thread, some of the guys I work with say it would be easily doable on a bike like mine. Besides, what's wrong with a challenge? Can you list off a few routes to tackle out Terrace way? I'm not familiar with Terrace at all, I've only been there a handful of times.

Back side drops you onto logging roads on onto the Suskwa FSR

Hey olija. I am a fellow Smithers dweller, but am currently rideless as my ride decided to eat itself on a tour to Bella Coola with 2Trider

Hopefully I will have a ride soon, but if you want to do a coffee and go over some routes, just let me know and we can make it so. Glad to have you onboard.

I really hope to have a ride this year so that we can make a Telkwa Pass run. That is a glorious route. The creek crossings up there might be a wee bit swolen this year ....... Gotta have the GoPro charged for that one

    Anyways, chat with ya later.
