Double Thanks, those Maxxis were tight! Was still motivated when i got home so I changed the oil & filter. Forgot to see if anyone else from Maple Ridge attended, live in a condo so not to much wrenching allowed, got lots of tools(can't stop buyin 'em) if anyone needs a hand in this neck of the woods and has someextra wrenchin' roomlet me know.

Thanks for putting this demonstration on and for the tour of the bus. I'm just finding out how muchI do not know but definitely feel more comfortable and will be better equiped after today. Seems to be a good bunch of people involved in DS.

I'll be watching for the "suspension" workshop.

Alex....Good chatting with you about our DR's. I know the feeling about not having the space at home to do the work on the bikes. I am lucky enough to have access to some space at work on the weekends and evenings. If you need to do some work, drop me a line and we can meet up. The shop is in south Burnaby.

Huge thanks to Tom, Ted, and Sharon for putting this together. It was great to meet some more of the forum members.

Patrick/Canuck....how was your ride home in the driving rain? I kept pretty dry in my new Thor Ride gear. Only wet part was my knees. We will definately have to do some riding together sometime. I just have to remember the earplugs if I am riding behind you. Maybe as I mentioned we can get Luther to join us since he missed out on todays get togther for the run out to Chilliwack if you can break free for the day.

For the life of me I cannot remember the name of the guy I was talking to about upgrading the springs on the DR's. He mentioned that he had done the needle shim/pilot adjustment on his bike. I didn't think about it until the ride home.....but if you read this... we can do a couple hours work on the bikes some weekend. I can help you with your springs and you can help me with my carb.

Now I guess I will have to order some tire irons and some spare bearings.

I'm sorry I missed this one...unfortunately, I had to hit an early ferry back from Vancouver to Victoria on short notice and couldn't make it.

Maybe there will be a similar venue on the South Island some time.

My first call on Monday will be to Muzzy to get the quiet core insert. I just can't take the shame of a loud exhaust anymore. That and Ted telling me about fixing a guys bike with an axe...

Lets see what did I learn: Those Maxxis 6006 look like a tight fit to put on. Just have to practice re and re a tire.

Tools and parts to add: a good set of tire irons, wheel bearings, epoxy metal putty, air clearer covers, a rod that holds the rear wheel off the ground with the help of the side stand.

I'm starting to understand the maintenance intervals on these bikes.

Here they are now. sorry they are so after the fact! A good time I hope by all was had! I was too busy making coffee and making sure things were going smooth to check how to change a tire, but hopefully I learned how from the last 2 socials...(one would think I should learn anyway)! lol I did change a tire by myself you can ask Guy he supervised me.However it was sunny, dry conditions in the garage at home, not out in the woods.
