Leaving 5thgear motorsports at 5:30 pm sharp. Second meeting location is the church off of Taylor way in North Vancouver at 6:30pm

All riders any skill level is welcome. Dirtbike only guys can meet at the church and follow us up to the offroad section.

This is one hell of an interesting ride. You will want to bring a camera.

** cross posted from another site **

First things first, Bill shows up on a Husky with a Cheng Shin 858 on the back (so what I can hear you ask) and a Michelin Pilot power on the front. Apparently that's all he had lying around the shop.
Next, the kick stand falls off his bike while we are riding along on the highway (this is par for the course, a few years ago I was riding with him and his shifter assembly fell off... )

Anways, we get everyone to the turnoff and up we go. Great roads, quite a bit rougher than I've ridden before in some spots due to the babyheads.
I stuck to the back so I didn't slow anyone down, some spots really only had one decent line.

Lots of bear scat along the way

Finally the road gets about as rough as I am comfortable riding and we come to this:

Some of the guys went onwards (including Bill, with a freaking sportbike tire on the front of his bike!), but they only got around one more hairpin before stopping due to the amount of snow.

Got a little sweaty on the way, this offroading thing is work...

Here is a shot of the approach to the snow, I know it doesn't looks all that steep, nor do the rocks look big, but when you're trying to climb there it looks both steep and rough

On the way down Mark and I road together. He'd let the KLR rest on the way up, you can see the scrapes and the one missing mirror (glass only) in the next couple of shots we took at the lookout:

You have to look a bit hard. Not much damage though he thinks he sprained his thumb. Took it like a trooper and kept motoring of course

    View from the lookout:

Too bad we don't have any decent scenery in BC....

Total damage: 1 lost license plate, one busted mirror, one scratched pipe, one cracked license plate (mine, but it didn't fall off ) and tons of fun!

Got rained on going home in the dark, but no big deal.

Hope everyone had a good first day of Summer, I know we did

these rides look pretty awesome, i'm disappointed that thursdays don't work so well for me ... since i live on the shore, i'd sure appreciate it if someone could post a track or some kind of map so i could check these rides out.

I'd be interested in heading back up there one day on the long weekend.

Just PM me if you want to get out (I don't own a GPS).
