Thanks to the organizers and to Pacific Yamaha/BMW for the great lunch.

The ride out from Vancouverwas well worth putting up with the suspect weather. Good toseeall the familiar faces and get caught up with everyone.

The ride to the Hot springs was on my to do list this year, have had a great year tagging along with the Dualsportbc group.

Still have the Harrison Lake to Boston Bar, that ride may have to wait til next year.

The KLR is going to stay on the road, keep those rides a coming.

I'll echo those thanks, especially to the crew who ferried me out and back in the torrential ran from the North Shore. Some great hospitatilty and genuinely nice folks for letting me tag along.

Also to the organizers, a great day of fun. I've driven hours in the rain before, but never to spend some more hours slipping, sliding and splashing my way up a mountain. Had a grin from ear to ear all the way.

    Thanks all...

As the originator / organizer of this event (who subsequently got others to do 99% of the heavy lifting), I need to add my 2cents.

It was a real treat to be a part of another successful DSBC event. I enjoyed riding & visiting with many regulars & the not-so-regulars, as well as many new faces. The variety of rider skills and bikes (plenty of the big'uns ) was impressive. If you hadn't all mustered the courage to take a chance, meet new people & ride in the mud and rain, this event would have been a bust.

It was very nice to have friends come from far away for this; Ken (Kelowna) & Brian (Victoria) come to mind. Sorry we didn't have more time to visit...

    Thanks to:

    • Tom for volunteering & captaining the bus for our supplies etc. The driving force behind all DSBC events as always who simply 'gets things done'.
    • Sharon for planning & buying the groceries, prepping the food, icing the drinks& being the head chef for the day.
    • Judy for insisting that we keep putting on this event, answering lots of inquiries, making arrangements with the Horn-'o-Plenty, soliciting sponsorship, etc. etc.
    • John for providing firewood, and sweep-riding the course with Neil.
    • Claude & Tracy for providing a bbq, vat of hot chocolate, etc. Great kids too, who are well on their way as apprentice chefs.
    • Pacific Yamaha-BMW (Mike, Eric, Sheldon & Ian) for sponsoring the lunch & pre-riding / posting signage for the route.
    • Many others who pm'd me with offers to haul gear, lend bbq's, etc.

Thanks to everyone who made my 2nd newbie ride a blast. It has been a full year on the DR and I have enjoyed every stream crossing, hill climb, tip-over, wipeout and outing...all thanks to those I have met through DSBC. I don't know if I wouldhave met as many good prople to ride with if I hadn't stumbled accross this site before buying the DR.

Many have already thanked the people who helped out this past weekend and I want to add a "here-here"! We all have busy lives and I would like to thank those to find time to put on events like this.

Looking forward to the next one!

Another great newbie ride! Thanks to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this an event to remember You rock!

GPS track of the ride available at http://bike.stu.ph/rides/ride.php?ride=173

I sat the first water crossing near the hot springs on the way down and tried to take pix of as many riders as I could. I managed to get about 25 of you guys. Here's a sampling of a few of them, I put the rest at http://www.penguinpowered.ca/gallery...ides/20071021/
