Here is a cut and paste of Tom's list: I've highlighted what's happenned so far

    What to expect :?

    • a long hard drive to Mexico
    • cool nights North of Catavina
    • lots of dust
    • some sand
    • bad directions (sometimes from people you know)
    • flat tires
    • getting up before the sun rises (not everyday but most)
    • no gas
    • no help
    • no crying
    • being told "no"
    • being left behind
    • you better like sea food
    • plenty of cerveza
    • poor accommodations most nights
    • personality clashes
    • some really long days on the trail
    • sore butt
    • dislike your room mates habits
    • damaged bike
    • personal injury
    • diarrhea
    • long hard drive back to Canada

The guys have sent another message:

"Talking to Dave Despain SteedTV. Riding KLR"

    Next msg after that was:

"tomorrow we ride to Constitution. Brian wants to turn back? Told him to suc it up."

I msg'd that Brian should ride on the road and see how he feels. Msg back to me was:

"No he fell on the road we take tomrw just telling tails" :? Anyone wanna take a shot at what they're talkng about. I msg'd that the beers must be going down good and the reply was:

    "YUP".

I think they're having way too much fun

    7 pm update

The doctor told Brian to rest his shoulder for a month. The other guys are trying to get him at least to get down to Cabo.

Tom crashed, broke mirrors and other accessories. Bruised ...All motorcycle padding worked just as it should...he is fine, sore

John James lost a hard bag somewhere in the depths of Baja, he has turned back in the dark to search for it. Sure hope he doesn't find a dead cow out there instead of his bags.

No kidding. Just what I was wondering. Reading this is such good advertising to get another batch of folks down there next year. "Come on down, it'll be fun. We only had 4 injuries last year, let's see if we can better that this time!?

Seriously though, this is funny. It's like we're all trying to do the Baja trip vicariously through them. Thanks for the updates.

[whine] I wanna go to Baja [/whine]

    One day!

Ouch - take it easy Brian. Having ridden with a dislocated shoulder, you have my sympathy. Don't underestimate thetherapeutic powers of beer

    Thanks Lane

Crap, I had the best armour I could buy and this injury still happened.

Loreto is a great place to be just wanted to be with the group.

    Tom

I purchased a charger for my phone and I will try to text you.

I would say that I will have to do the 900 km back to the bus on my own.

    Messages from this morning:

They are in Todos Santos. Tom says that the riding is excellent but he has lots of broken parts but the DRZ 400 is still running and it's a perfect bike for Baja. It's still sunny and they are one day ahead of schedule.

Brian - I'm sorry to hear that you are hurt but I'm glad that you are still able to ride back to the bus.

I had a good ride today on the rode. 300km the shoulder held up well and the mesh armour holds the shoulder in place.

I`m at rice & beans in San Ignaco: much nicer then the seedy place in Loreto.
Stay a couple of nights. Possibly go to bahia De Los Angeles.

Is there anything good there. s it worth while to see it.

600km to go to the bus.

If you enjoy history and tours, at 45 kilometers from Bahia de los Angeles you'll find the mission of San Francisco de Borja Adac, built in 1762t. You can also see the Indias de Montevideo paintings (approximately 10,000 years of age according to archaelogical studies), located 15 kilometers from the highway.

I`m heading back to the bus on tuesday. 480km from San Agnazio.

My tire with the knobs ripped off is showing the threads, just not going to risk going else where.
