I would be in to doing part of it,

Maybe a days worth on the way up, get me a motrel room wherever we stop, and then ride back alone the next day.

If your riding slab up, i could take the wife on my wing instead of my KLR.

We are leaving on Sun the 22nd of June & riding up West Harrison to Pemberton then poss splitting into 2 groups & doing the Seton Portage or the Hurley then staying in Goldbridge.

The 2nd day we are heading again in poss 2 groups 1) rough off road 2)easier logging roads up via Gang Ranch towards hwy 30.

After this it is unknown what the roads are going to be like so we will most likely stay in a group.

Claude is heading back south to Deadzone on Thurs/Friday & I am heading over to alberta. We will probably only make it to Fort St James before we have to split from this group.

It will be a ton of fun though. Lots of great people!

Anyone interested in joining officially, pm Sector on this website or via the link that Claude put up. Unofficially anyone can ride with us...

How rough do you mean by rough off-road? Like too rough for my KLR?

More like "slightly to more technical"

Claude & I are doing it on our 950's but then, you know what that means...

If it rains alot the week before, the road will probably be unpassable. Otherwise your 650 will be fine. Hey, I saw what you can do in single track with that beast!!

    You will definately be fine.

Shifty as a cabin on Marshal lake and we will spend the night there and go by Mud Lake and the real trip start !!!!!!

We will leave early and will try to stop at the hotspring on the way

First night some people will stay at the Gold brige hotel ($40.00)

    Claude

    That's a great web page.

What a trip ! I will have to reference it to the BC backroads maps.

Doing West Harrison is a great start. Would you go all the way through or stay at the mining camp at the end of Harrison lake. That's a great time .

Will have to miss this one. Crap !! going on the BigBCTrailie ride 3 on that weekened. The little DRZis going to take a beating on the Hwy's on that one. Good times though.

My freind with a XR650 was talking about this trip. I will persuade him to go as he is good people like you two.

    Brian

    Injured wing like you Frog.

Alright, time off work is booked, so I'm in! I'll do the same route as Frog, as I am signing up for the Dead Zone too.

    You lucky, lucky b@$t@*d$ !!!!!!!!

I only just noticed this thread and there's no way for me to do this but maybe next year. I think I'd drop the deadzone like a hot rock for this trip but other commitments mean it can't happen.

However I'm now wondering if Claude will be catching the group up after the deadzone. There is a possibliity that I could make the last two weeks.

How d'you think the GS would handle this trip? Would I need knobbies? I guess not as I'd just do the easy routes.

Hi Loz, the GS would be fine for this ride... You may find it a little tricky in some of the areas where we break off from the main group if you decide to take that option.... Then I would recomend Conti TKC 80s or similar type tires to help get the big bike through...

    Hello All
I am going to head up with Claude as well and I think Mishi said he might be in.

I did the road last year with Mishi which passed my cabin at Marshall lake and goes through passed Poison mountain/ China head then back through the Yalokum Valley to Lilloet. The road I am looking at is going to split at the top of the loop and continue straight up to the Bella Coola highway. The portion that we were on was high alpine and alot soft dirt (dust) but when wet it turns to grease. Lots of fun when your fully loaded. Might be good to have extra fuel.

Totally stoked. The cabin has lots of areas for tents and of course wood for a large fire at the fire pit. Steak is my choice for good fuel for the following day!

    Cheers
    Brandon

    Claude,

Thanks for posting the ride info here. I was thinking it should be puton dualsportbcsomewhere! I'm stoked to see that a few more folks are joining up, at least for the early part. For catching the ride after the DeadZone, we'll probably need to exchange cell#s or something, because I doubt we'll be right on schedule. So, do I have the list right so far? vexorg, and shifty? This ride is going to be a blast. I look forward to meeting you all. I'll likely be riding the easy route through Gang Ranch, so it may be that I only see you at camp.

Anyone going north this summer might want o pick up a copy of BC OUTDOORS magazine. This month's backroads article covers the Barkerville / Likely area. The previous 2 issues took us from Lillooet to Williams Lake.

Frog950S, do you have a general plan yet? Maybe we can get our paths to cross. Look at my thread "North to Yukon" Our plans have us leaving June 8th & me ending up at the http://www.horizonsunlimited.com rally in Merritt around June 20. After that, maybe Goldbridge.

If you turn in at 150 mile to the right as headed north on HWY97, you can ride gorgeous backroads all the way to barkerville.

    Its a nice trip.

If you like antiques be sure to stop at the store in dragonfly where you can buy them.

And although not for sale, there is a great amount of cool old stuff at the pub in likely as well.

The trip is long from likely to barkerville route, with no fule till you get to wells about 5 miles from barkerville.

So if you have a bike with a small tank, be sure to carry a bit of extra gas with you.

If you ride a KLR or KTM adenture type of bike you will have lots of gas to spare.

Hey Ken!! How the heck are you!!

I just noticed you had posted here as I usually hang in the ADVrider forum...

We are actually going to be hitting the Goldbridge area June 22nd after riding up West Harrison/Hurley so we may just see you guys there. We are heading up past Marshall Lake the next day & making our way through Gang Ranch then stopping up by Williams lake that night. You are more than welcome to join us. though I know you prefer a slower pace so you can get some fishing in..

    Cheers, Tracy

Tracy, too busy at work these days, but gotta pay for gas somehow.

Sounds like we might be following the same route for a way (you 2 weeks later than us). It seems like we could try to meet up somewhere between Goldbridge & Merritt (leaving Merritt morning of June 21 or 22). Actually at that time, some of us expect to be hanging around Goldbridge for a few days. I used to live in Bralorne & want to show some of my companions a lot of nice backroads there. Will try to be camping at a friend's on Gun lake or Kingdom Lake forestry site or Tyax Mountain resort. Others will be on their own agenda going north to Prudhoe Bay or Alberta.

I might be able to pass on road conditions north of there if desired, as that would be on MY return. No exact plans, so I'm flexible as long as I'm home about June 30

I should know in a day or so, if I can tag along on the trip for week one.
I'll be turning around with the others to attend the dualsportbc's "Dead Zone" ride. If I can't swing it, I'll tag along for the ride on Sunday.

I've been as far as Hyder on the FJR, to attend Hyder Seek.
The circle trip was via Vancouver Island, Port Hardy to Prince Rupert.
Returnedtrip, from Hyder to Vancouver in 14 hour's.

Hey Julius! Are you & Pam coming over to the mainland? Claude & I are taking that week off after the deadzone & checking out the interior backroads, possibly with Mr & Mrs Vexorg. Why don't you guys come on out & join us?
