From Moab,UT to Oregon Coast is about 1800 mostly offroad. Sam Carrero says at about 200 miles per day it's a 9 day trip. I figure that means 2 weeks round trip from here.

Would have to be late summer to ensure the high alpine mountain passes are clear.

I would be up for that in 2006, next year we are going to Inuvik, Chicken and Fairbanks and back.

The Alcan5000 is in 2006, and I'm hopefully going to ride in it. So that will be my Alaska blast in 2006.

I'm definitely thinking of getting rid of one of my street bikes and buying a KLR/DR/KTM big bore for some "adventure" trips.

Strictly street riding is not what it once was. Too many hazards like people driving who shouldn't have a driver's license and too many cops etc.
