Good Day
I am looking at a new Kawasaki KLX 250S for my wife. I know it is quite a tall bike but with a lowering kit and shaving the seat down a bit I think it should fit her.
Does anyone out there have one and if so what are the good and bad points of the bike. Thanks for your help.

Printerboy has one, he seems to like it
. From what I have seen this is one capable dual sport bike. The bikes heritage is from the KX300 so it started its life as an off road machine. It does not seem to be a high performance machine but it will climb just about any hill with the right skills. If you looking for a bike for someone new to the off road riding thing, that they can learn and improve their skills, without having to buy a new bike every year. I think this would be the bike.
Thats my opinion.

I know a lady in Kamloops that just bought one this week.
She is not what I would call super tall, but she manages okay with it.
I rode one last year that a gal had I was riding with a few times....I was very impressed where it would go.
A nice low 1st gear gave it great offroad manners, and the suspension was fine for any normal useage.
I would not try the double at the loacl motocross track on one....or a ride to forida on one, but as a daily rider dualsport, think its a fine choice.

I picked up a new KLX at the beginning of April...
This is my first bike and its been great! Its fairly lightweight and easy to manuever. I haven't taken it on any tricky singletrack yet, though...
- Its a nice little bike, but a little underpowered. A smaller front sprocket would probably help give it some low-end kick, though.
- Cruises fine on the highway and is great on gas. The range is pretty low as the tank is only 8 L. 130-150 Km main tank...haven't reached the reserve's limit yet...
- My friend's wife loved it when she tried it out and she could sit on it with just her toes touching...I'll guess that she's about 5' 5" or 5' 6".
All around I've been happy with the KLX, but I'll probably end up trading it in for something with a little more range and power for the long trips...we'll see, though!
