It's the strangest thing...I went into my local Kawi shop to get a replacement fender bolt for my KLR after the ORCA run. When I left the shop, my bike changed from this.......

    To THIS!

2007 F650GS Dakar with 252km on the odometer...who could walk away from that?

Why buy new bolts when you can get a brand new ride? Good times!

Sweet... I definitely agree with your logic.

    Good choice in rides.

Yep, I have a sneaking suspicion that this fall a metamorphosis like this may happen to me too.

    Thanks guys,

It's a great way to start the summer.

The technology in the bike makes a huge difference. Very little vibration, ABS brakes, lots of grunt throughout the power band.

I went by my local BMW shop and they were telling me how the bike sucks in a sample of ambient air when the starter is depressed. The computer analyses the air sample for temperature, O2 content, and barometric pressure THEN loads the optimum profile for controling the fuel injection under those environmental conditions. No wonder the bike gets a reported 85 to 90 mpg!

My KLR had a similar system. Press the starter to get the cylinder then watch to see how much black smoke was coming out of my skanky Jardine pipe to tell me what my "environmental conditions" were that I was riding in .

Well...time for more , , and some yard work :X.

Maybe I need to think of a new handle now that the KLR in "KLR Kid" is gone? :?

    KLR Kid

Congrats on the new bike. I hada Dakar and I loved it (traded to a 2008 BMW 650GS - I couldn't wait for the 800GS). Welcome to ourworld of BMW. Here are a couple of sites you might be interested in:

http://faq.f650.com/frames.htm This site is dedicated to the F650 GS. Everything you will need to know you can find here.

http://www.touratech-usa.com/index.h...8C61gXOT65BD4E My favorite BMW shopping place.

    And most importantly:

http://www.dualsportbc.com/forums/vi...mp;forum_id=62you need to get a DSBC decal!!!!!

    Enjoy your new bike
On the internet you can be anything you want . . . . . It's strange that so many people choose to be stupid.

O.M.G. What's happening?? KLR's turning into Beemers??? This incidious affliction has also struck the mid-island group. We suddenly have hardly anyKLR's left to speak of, and are surrounded by a bunch of Beemers and Honda's.Run before you get it to!

Didn't I over hear someone saying they were contemplating selling their KLR?

Yes I am going to sell it, but don't worry because I got inoculated for the dreaded Beemer disease. On the other hand I took an 1100 Shadow for a ride yesterday, and got bit by the cruiser bug.

I wonder if I cross over will theyhave cookies? Doesn't Javajude say something about that?

I have ridden modi bikes --off and on for over 50 yrs and at 72 I though I was old enough to ride a hammock with wheels (cruiser). Let me tell you if your have ridden in competition and been athletic-- not over weight --your never ready for the hammock--I'am not as I bought a Triumph Bonnei America33 degree castor -- flops at 0-6mph in the turn-- ug
