Hey guys I am enjoying my vacation in the Oliver area. Been rideing the backRoads in the area but I would like to ride some trails on sat or sun. I am on a drz 400 and I am a "b" level rider. So is there any one out here that could show me around?

Hey Scott, I am in westside kelowna these days. Looks like all the locals are staying inside as it is in the high 30s! I plan on meeting some people at the Myra canyon trestles on Sunday morning, but that is a ways from where you are. are you still up here on Monday? Steve

The first thing is, is which end of the canyon, as there are two routes to it (Parking lots at either end of the canyon). I'll give the directions from Hwy 97.

Route "1": South on Gordon Dr. to KLO Rd. Turn LEFT onto KLO and follow it to the East Kelowna Community Center. At the Center, angle to the RIGHT onto McCulloch Rd. Watch at the intesections, as McCulloch does change direction. You're on the right route when you pass Gallagher's Canyon Golf and Country Club. Just past there, the road turns sharply to the right and narrows to one lane as it drps down to a bridge over KLO Creek. Once up the other side, Angle RIGHT onto Myra FSR. This road will bring you up to the east end of the Canyon. There's a large parking lot and outhouses.

Route "2": This one I'm not too familliar with, but will give it my best shot. South on Lakeshore Rd. At the intersection of Lakeshore, Barnaby and Chute Lake Rd, keep straight onto Chute Lake Rd. Turn LEFT onto Gillard Cr. FSR. This road will bring you up to the rail grade. Turn LEFT onto the rail grade to reach the parking lot at the west end of the canyon.
