This post on this web site is still going with some interesting comments it's worth checking out.I think it's now more importantthan ever to getestablished off road ridingarea's in each community. These riding area's are needed forrum bikes and anyone else that wants to get off the boringpavement and logging road.

Quite the thread, with similar views of the moto & quad riders, like this one:
Personally, I don't give a shit if they ride up there b/c it's only encouraging authorities / politicians to clamp down on motorized vehicles in the bush.

I am also a member of that forum...although I am not nearly as "green" as some of them are.
A few are hard core 4x4 enthusiasts, some DS and dirt bikers.

They were instrumental in getting the barricades put up to restrict access to Spoon Valley on Mt. Cheam. Sure, a few don't care much for gas-powered anything, but on the whole most of them are quite tolerant. I've taken my bike to various trailheads for group hikes...no problem.

Nobody likes to see motorized vehicles of any sort in the alpine (if there isn't a road)!

I think there is a big difference between riding in the mountains on established motorized trails and this mud bogging mentality.Asingle track motorized trail in the mountains can look pretty much the same as a hiking trail with very little impact, it's not the machine but the operater. The mud bogging eye sore isdonemostly byQuads or 4x4s and i think they should be fined for doing it.

Obviously not all Quad and 4x4 owners are out destroying the landscape. But when you see a nice single track trail that you built destroyed a person can get pretty pissed off.I notice that the ATVand snowmobile clubs are pretty organizedand probably all motorized users have to come together to protect riding areas in the future.
