    CANCELLED

I am sorry to announce that we have to cancel this event. We just dont have enough commitment to pull it off.

    TWENTY FOUR HOURS OF CHURCH

    January 2 2010

We are very excited to announce Dual Sport BC,s first

Twenty Four Hours of Church Off-road Motorcycle Marathon

CANCELLED 2010 Tamahi Campground Staging Area Chilliwack BC

Its been Two years since the lower mainland has had a 24 hour marathon off road motorcycle event. We have enjoyed them in the past when the Fraser Valley Dirt Riders had organised them, now its time for DSBC to step up and take a turn at this type of event.

For more detailed information go to http://dualsportbc.com/wiki/TwentyFourHoursOfChurch You will find the latest information as the 24 Hour Marathon Event nears.

    Who Can Ride This Event
Although this is an Off-road Event, it is not a race. Like all DSBC Events, the primary goal is to have fun, this time we are going to add a little competion to it. The teams will be made up of three or more riders. We will also be limiting the number of teams. Pre sign up will be required. BCORMA Trail Pass will be required for each of your team members. Any Off-Road capable Dual Sport machine will be able to do the main route. Any Dirt Bike can also do this event.

Main Route will be over 20 kms, that any rider with some off road skills will be able to navigate. We do not recommend bikes over 650cc. The main route is mostly deactivated FSR's and old two track.

Hard Options off of the main route will be hard , this will bring the total for the loop over 30kms. These sections will be for the experienced off road rider, although they can be done with a 650cc machine we would recommend something smaller.

Volunteers this whole thing looks like a little too much for you on your new 800GS or your new to the sport. We need lots of help to pull this event off, if you have anything to offer in time skills or??? contact information will be on the wiki http://dualsportbc.com/wiki/TwentyFourHoursOfChurch

    Format 24 Hour Marathon
This will be a 24 Hour Marathon, the goal will be to get the most amount of laps within your key time over 24 hours. Only one team member will be riding the course at any given time (like a relay). Your team may have mixed levels of riders, the key time will be for the individual rider's course choice and ability.

Time Keeping Enduro (with a twist)
Although the term €œENDURO€ often applies to any type of long-distance, off-road motorcycle races, its true technical definition usually refers to a set of rules, that specify exactly when a rider should arrive at certain pre-defined locations along a prescribed route. The object of the event is to arrive at those locations exactly per the defined schedule, with early or late arrivals resulting in penalties to the riders' scores. This sort of event is not technically a Race, but rather it is a Time Keeping event. The twist will be the 24 hours and teams.

    EVENT CANCELLED

Its unfortunate, we have to cancel this event. I have not been able to spend the time requried to promote this event and that resulted in lack of commitment. I would like to thank all of you who had commited, but it was just not enough to pull this event off.

Sorry to hear this, Tom. If there is anything that can be done to help resurrect, or to morph it into something more manageable, please let me know.
    Cheers,
    Matthew
