Nice bike. Becareful You need mirrors and a chain guard to be legal .If you get pulled over they could ask you to get it inspected. It will fail &you will loose your plate because it a RUM bike

Hey, I'd be curious to know what kind of range you get when you're just bumming around city streets. You need to turn this into a "Life With A FE570" thread & keep us in the loop on this thing

Right now I'm waiting for Safari tanks to start producing their over sized front tank which will give me a total of 16L and a company out of the States called 70 degrees Racing is just starting to manufacture replacement rear sub frames that will hold another 4.5L. So that will give me a total of just over 20 liters, so that should give me a pretty good range.

No, but it is a KTM keyed ignition. I had the shop install it for me.

    Just a pointer:

The most relaxed route for the speedo and front brake cable is behind the headlight mask. Each to their own, but just in case the shop did it or something.

A close friend has an 09 570 as well. Excellent bike.

I had the privilege of taking this baby for a scoot on the weekend. What a ride! The fuel injection makes starting easy and the power delivery is incredibly smooth. I look forward to the spring when you can really see how she goes, mind you with these temperatures, we may be in the mountains by next week.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. This is my first dual sport, I'll be using it for about 75% offroad and 25% road (atleast until I get my motard set up for it later in the summer)

So right now the mods that I have for it are, the ignition mapping switch, and fan kit for it along with the anodized clutch and front brake covers. I have a Rekluse Pro and billet clutch cover at home waiting to go on. And as of right now I have anodized blue Bullet Proof Designs rad guards, rear disc guard and the swing arm guard. I also have a P3 carbon fiber pipe guard on order. Oh I also have my GPR V4 damper to put on too.

My up coming lists of mods are, Cycra probend CRM hand guards using bonz bar mounts and I'm going to use the Zeta plastic shields with intergrated turn signals. I'm going to order a P3 carbon fiber skid plate, if you're not fimilar with there stuff you have to check it out. Some of the nicest best built carbon fiber stuff on the market! Twice as thick as any other carbon fiber stuff being made! I'm going to get a new seat too because the stock one is like riding a 2x4, I think I'm going to try the XPC suede seat or a Renazco seat. I'm on a waiting list for the new larger Safari gas tank and 70 degree Racing rear sub frame tank. And I think that should hold me over for a while!

That would be my first choice for a new bike, and by the time I can afford it the 2011 should be out. Just wondering if you could let us know, after you have ridden her for a while, how you would feel about riding a six or seven hour stint at highway speeds on secondary highway type roads, if you had to in order to link up off road sections of a very long trip. something like what you could do on a TE610. I am jealous. International had some great prices on those bikes. Is it one of the reconditioned ones?

I'll do my best to keep this thread updated with mods and thought about how the bike performs. I'm really looking forward to this year and finally being able to come out on some of these great dual sport rides I keep hearing some much about!

Well I finally took the FE570 out for a rip yesterday and all I can say is WOWThis bike just flat out rips. I was riding with one of my buddies that rides a 07 KTM525 with a big bore 540 kit in it with a little extra engine work done to it. On the open trails I could let him get a little ahead of me and then reel him in at will. We did a couple side by side roll on races and with seconds I was pulling bike lengths on him.

But at the same time in the tight single trap you could lug the bike in second gear to almost a slow walking pace and then just torque your way up almost anything. The FI works perfect on this bike in instant throttle response.

This is my first big bore 4stroke, actually this is my first 4stroke period and I have always ridden 2 strokes and still have my KTM 250xcw and not once did I think that the bike was not as nibble to ride in the technical trails as the KTM. All the hype about the handling of these new Husabergs is true. The bike was so easy to move around and change lines at will. It was nice having the big bore KTM there too to switch back and forth to get a direct comparison too.

As far as the range goes; we did just over a 100km and the terrain varied from tight single track to some fast logging roads and some bike hill climbs.

Oh and one more thing, the three setting map switch on this bike really works and there is definetly a noticable difference in all three positions. I road around most of the day is soft setting to get use to the bike but in race mode this bike just flat out flys. In the first four gears you can loft the front wheel at will. I can't wait to put some serious mileage on this bike this year and hopefully the Baja at the end of November too!

Not much to update on. I wanted to go riding today but everyone bailed on me! , I have my anodized blue Bullet Proof Design rad guards arriving next week along with my P3 carbon fiber pipe guard and Cycra CRM Probend hand guards.

Next month I'll be ordering my Safari Tanks gas tank which will give me a total of 16liters. A little pricey though! $650us.

I'll post some updates along with pics with the new goodies on the bike once I get them installed. I still have to get around to installing the Rekluse Pro I have too.

Shane, sorry for the late reply. I didn't notice your post. When I bought the bike they had taken care of everything. I told them when I was going to pick up the bike and that I wanted to insure it on the spot. When I got there they had a ICBC insurance broker waiting there for me. I had to pay $18 for regy and $18 for new plates.

It was that simple. Have I said how much I love this bike!
