Sexy little Italian Mistress Beta 525

    I like my Italian's dirty.

Thanks to Bill at 5th Gear I'm now rocking with a new Beta 525RR

So, as usual, expect this bike to be put in situations it shouldn't, tested against elements it wasn't designed for, and some fun adventures on the way.

Yep. We'll see how that suspension pans out this weekend.

Scott, you might want to look into getting a IMS tank for extra range if you plan on doing some (light) dual-sporting

Looks great J_Scott... I pick up my 400 from Bill this week-end, I can't wait... I would love to go for a ride with ya sometime.

edit... Well, here she is... First thing to up-grade... the seat! My 'ass' is 'raw'... That seat is like sitting on bricks!!! But it has to be the most fun bike I've ever owned.

Hi Hamlet, I got my 400 RR from Bill a couple of months ago and I really like it, but you're right about the seat. I tried wearing a pair of padded bicycle shorts and it helped a lot. I find that I stand up on the pegs most of the time so the hard narrow seat isn't that much of a problem. I rode about 230 km on it last Sunday and I felt fine so hold off on any expensive seat upgrades til you get used to it.

Where are you located? Maybe we can go for a ride on our Betas.

Hey Frap/John, yeah I've been motoring your posts "from a far" now for the last month or so and been wanting to chat and go for a ride with you guys for awhile before the weather gets really too ugly out there. And you're right about the seat, its getting better. I'm new to the 'off-road' thing and live in Vancouver.

Hey John. Yeah, I think I'll be free on sunday. My 'clutch boot' is leaking and I'm hoping that Bill at 5th gear has the replacement part to get it fixed on Sat... My clutch still works but I'm a little afraid of venturing too far. I would hate to lose my clutch out in the back-woods. I'm dying to get out on my first real trail ride. I've been on sport bikes for over 20 years and this is my first enduro bike. I hope you can show me the ropes...

Can you meet me at Bruce's Country Market, corner of 240th St and the Lougheed Hwy at 9:00 on Sunday morning? I've tentatively made arrangements to meet another rider at the end of Sylvester Road at 10:00 so we'd have to leave Bruces no later than 9:15. The other rider is just getting back to trail riding after about 25yrs of street riding so we won't be doing anything too technical to start out with, but we can certainly make it as challenging as you want. I'll be trucking my bike to the trail head and they've recently put in parking restrictions there so we have to park about a mile before the end of the pavement on Sylvester.

...I'll have to get back to ya. It all depends on how my clutch turns out. I'll know more after Saturday. But I hope to make it out.
This thread is getting way off topic, I'm gonna move it over to "This Weeks Rides South Coast Fraser Valley" where it should be.
