I ordered some grip warmers and an air filter from Dual Star back in September, got billed, and nothing ever showed up! Repeated phone calls (talking to people and answering machines) has yielded little progress - Still no delivery!
Anyone else have an issue with Dual Star delivering to Canada in the past? I have read lots of good reviews about their stuff... I am pretty bummed!
I ordered a set of mirrors from them but I had them shipped to Point Roberts. I did have a lot of issues getting the order placed with them. here it is Sept. 16, 2009:

Well, ordered and picked up some grip heaters from RTR... the KTM ones. Unfortunately, after all my running and waiting around, they are the ones with the resistor... At this point I have given up for now on getting a pair without the resistor...
I have heard the resistor is not ideal... but not entirely sure why. I imagine it wastes energy, and you have a hot resistor to deal with now. Anyone have issues with a resistor melting something it shouldn't?
Oh well, I have all the farkles ready for a decent holidy moto-upgrade! HID lights, grip warmers, and GPS hardwire... wish me luck!
Just a word of caution if your GPS uses a USB type power connector. Power to USB connectors is stepped down from 12V usually by way of a small circuit built into the cigarette lighter plug. If you have this style you must not eliminate the plug or your may fry your GPS with excess voltage.Originally Posted by Matty-D

The resistor only comes into play when you switch the grips to the low setting... The juice when switched to low gets filtered through the resistor where it steals a certain percentage away from the grips so they don't get as hot...Well, ordered and picked up some grip heaters from RTR... the KTM ones. If it were me I'd toss the resistor and forget about having a low setting, just on and off... If your hands get too warm then switch the grips off....
I have gotten non-resistor ones from another shop in town Matt, they do exist locally.
Thanks OTG - I got the "right" GPS cable from GPS Central... complete with little black box to adjust voltages.
I think I saw another style of grip warmer somewhere else in town as well... Symtec??? I thnk the elements were a different size for clutch and throttle sides and they were $15 more. Small price in the grand scheme of things...
I think Island hoppers plan is pretty good. We'll see how it all goes! I'll post some pics as I go.
