    Viberg Boots

Viberg Boots has a pair called Explorers -designed for dual sport riding and hiking. Designed with the help of Tom Grenon of www.motorcycleexplorer.com fame.

Does anyone have a pair of these and what's your opinion of them?

They have a big fat Vibram sole and I wonder about being able to get my foot under the shift lever to change gears.

    Cheers,
    Guy Rocks

I gone through many pairs of Viberg boots and found them to be a very sturdy product... Shifting is not a problem but I don't like the heel on the Explorer as it has a tends to hang up.... Instead look at the model 45 Hunter which is the same boot as the Explorer with a better sole...

I don't use my Vibergs for riding much anymore {mostly for work} as I prefer the Miendl/ HanWag type high top hiking boots instead... These boots are sturdy, totally waterproof {GoreTex} and high enough to tuck the shin pads into...

Viberg sells the HanWag brand but they have gotten pricey...

I have a pair of hunter 45 vibergs. Awesome boots. Love em treat them enough and they will be quite waterproof as well. I have been hearing lots about the miendl boots as well from some guys that put them through the ringer, (fallers and forest fire fighters) that say they love em. Vibergs can be resoled. (both of mine i have resoled twice) and when and if they crack or have some sort of leather issue they will repair it without cost. Viberg custom makes boots as well.
