    Michelin Cross AC10

I'm about to put a pair of Michelin Cross AC10s on my Beta; DOT approved, aggressive tread, reversible, and more:

    http://www.michelinmotorcycle.com/in...vent=CrossAC10

I've read that some prefer an MT21 front, but I'll try a matched pair to start. Anyone tried these yet ?

    Thanks.

I have not, but they look nice. Similar to the Metzeler 6 Days Extreme tires my 530 came with.

    Oh good, a tire thread...

At this time of year I am not enjoying my MT21 front on the 690. Not so good in the sloppy stuff.

x2 on the mt21, baaad front tire, (and baja destroys the rear)
I went to the zoo the other day. The only animal there was a dog. For sure it was a Shitzoo.

ac10 front i didn't like. Keept washing out and felt unstable on the lose stuff. MT21 front and D606 rear is the best combination i found to be the best for most conditions.

AC10 rear is decent. Front is garbage on lighter bikes. Had the front on a te610 running high psi was decent.

Initial follow up: went with an AC10 rear (couldnt get a front, which is likely a good thing), and it is VERY soft - aint gonna last, as its disintegrating before my eyes (after a mere 30km). Feels mushy in corners, and shifty on the road. Rating so far: not recommended for dual sport use, and not overly confidence inspiring off-road either.

The Michelin Enduro Competition it replaced was vastly superior for my needs, while it to wore quickly (not this quickly !) it tracked well, and felt solid and predictable.

It says right here on the Michelin site that it would not be good for dual purpose use if you want a 50/50 tire. It is a DOT approved tire to get you to the trails, much like the Metzeler Extreme Six Days tires.

Not looking for a 50/50, but essentially a DOT rated MX tire. The "10% road" bit is what motivated me to try it. My comments were particular to its performance off road. Not in any way comparable to the Enduro Competition III it replaced.

Speaking of charts, I thought these were some of the most informative:

I would agree: WORST TIRE EVER... over rated. Go with what the manufacturer suggested.... perfect way to ruin
    a good day's outing.

Ahhh, in that case..try the Pirelli Scorpion PRO All Terrain. DOT approved and FIM homologated, just like the Metzeler Six Days Extreme. Either of these will be more like what you are looking for

None of them are going to be great on-road though, but good enough to live with to get to the trail.
