    NON-CLUB event: Memorial Ride Info

Registration is now open. Email memorialride@shaw.ca or phone 250-746-8505 to register.

Pre-registration is now closed, BUT the good news is that it's been pretty light, so registration is now available on site.

The ride will start and end at:

4354 Howie Road in Duncan BC. That's just up from the corner of Howie and Mountain road.

Sign up starts at 8:00am, riders meeting at 9:00am.

    Come one come ALL!

Couple questions from someone who's never done an organised ride like this before.

-Are we given maps, or GPS tracks?
-What time in the morning does the official ride start? (Live in Victoria, no need to camp overnight if it's not starting till 9 or 10am)

Also not sure if I'd want the C or B route. Would probably bring a buddy on an F800, but again not sure if he's B or C. What might I expect from either?

    Cheers!

We would email both gps tracks and route sheets ahead of time. The course will be well marked also, so it will be fairly easy to follow.

The ride will start fairly early. It's about 282 km, so we want to make sure everyone makes it throught. Riders meeting is 8am with riders leaving right after.

Right now, it's a C route only. There's a couple of hilly sections and a bit of quad track, but mostly its logging road, fire road and "old" logging road. I have quite a bit of A and B routes for the morning loop, so if you're interested let me know and we can work up some bypasses/alternates. (I'd love to see some B and A riders) B would be quad/single track and A would be expert single track.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the additional info.

I think a mix of B and C routes through the day would be perfect.
Sounds like camping might be an idea, makes for an early morning to get up to duncan for 0800.
I don't have a GPS, so I was hoping to hear that we get maps... Good!

I'm going to hold off on Pre-Reg for a couple weeks (Riding buddy currently has a broken foot, see how that heals), but this is something I'd love to do in an area where I haven't done much.

The route is coming together. We've had some challenges with gates etc. Ken will be heading up to do some flagging this weekend.

Hurry and get your registration in! All it takes is an email to register, you can pay later (but not too late.)

    Deadline extended

The registration deadline has been extended for a week. We're still asking people to pre-register by email (or telephone) but you can pay up when you arrive and do your paperwork.

    Thanks.
