    1994 Suzuki DR350 SE - Squamish, BC

    Stolen:

1994 Suzuki DR350 SE (Electric Start Street Model) 'dual sport' motorcycle. White bodywork with blue accents, seat, and frame. Aftermarket front fender, large skid plate, bark busters, handlebars, mirors, signals, extra-large 'Acerbis' fuel tank, and many other aftermarket parts. Electricians tape was used to make an 'N' on the right side of the rear-fender. Email me any leads through the site and for serial # if you think you have the bike.

Was taken from an apartment building here in Squamish in broad daylight. Was at a friends house and came out to find that the bike was gone.

    UPDATE:

I found the left-hand side panel on a local trail (verified it was from my bike both because it was from a DR350 and because when I scratched the paint off of some areas the markings that the previous owner put on it were there). I presume it fell off of the bike because they did not attach it properly after hot-wiring it. The paint on this panel was a matte black and there were drips of camo-green on the top of it, presumably from the seat being painted green.

So, I would think we are now looking for a DR350 with spay-bombed black plastics and a green seat that is missing the left-hand side panel.

Bike has not turned up yet - scoured the local trails and all around town. Police have one reasonable sounding lead, though I am doubtful of their willingness to follow it properly, but I can hope. Keep an eye out on the logging roads for me and if you see it then call the police as well as trying to get a name and picture of the rider if at all possible.

    Recovered.

In the most wonderful condition ...

It's hard to see were almost all of the logic was for this. It's not so much concealing your identity as it is dousing yourself in gasoline, lighting a match, and then walking around nonchalantly. I mean seriously! Is there anyone in there right mind who would walk by that bike without the word 'stolen' jumping to the front of their mind?
This picture doesn't do it justice... it doesn't look half bad in the photo, but in real ... life trust me! It looks like a piece of ----.

Considering it looked like this a few days ago:

Just goes to show you that a few cans of black, brown, and the lovely silver paint you see on my engine cases, can turn a perfectly usable dualsport into a true rat bike.

Engine still runs true - typical DR.

Get a gallon of XYLENE and a pile of rags. You'll be amazed at how fast that spray bomb job will be cleaned up. I'd like to take a few cans of paint to the doosh-bag that did your DR.

    Good Luck

Hi Dizo....better than nothing but a mess to be sure. Try some automotive gasket remover (stripper) on the plastics and skid plate. It is a very strong stripper and should remove any paint from the plastic. Probably work on the tires and skid plate but test if first. It will likely strip all paint from parts so be careful. Looks like you have a winter project

    I hope they press charges???

Yeah, Almost as bad as just not getting it back, but at least I have something of substance to show for what I originally paid for ...
A whole LOT of man hours and a few hundred bucks of parts and she's looking a lot better. Luckily I had the stock tank, an aftermarket headlight, and another front fender to help things along. Would have a had a lot more costs if not.

Pressure washer took very little off. Started with gas in a spray-bottle, then moved up to scrubbing on paint remover for the real hard stuff. Pressure wash after every application. Just had to be very careful around all seals, bearings, hoses, gaskets, and lines.

Dont think i'll bother with signals at the moment. Need new side panels to ...

Still a great buy if anyone's interested! She'll just keep running and running like a DR should for years and years to come.

Not able to press charges unfortunetly. Still don't know who took the bike in the first place, just that it ended up back across the street where it was taken from. They were surely on something fairly serious just based on some of the mindless work that was done to it. Drugs of some sort, so I doubt they'd have the money to reimburse me anyways.

Probably have around 20 hr's into fixing the bike up now. Lots of toothbrush with stripper/remover work to get it to look like this.
